Taylors Crossing Campground
This campground is a great place to visit for a picnic or to camp. The East side of the river is for day visitors only, with a toilet, picnic tables and fire pits. The road is gravel and is accessible by most 2WD in dry conditions; there is a bit of an incline down to the river and we needed to engage our traction control on the way out! Camping is permitted on the West side of the river which is accessible via pedestrian bridge or 4WD river crossing (subject to water depth). It is a fairly easy walk across the bridge and along 4WD tracks to Kennedy's Hut which is definitely worth checking out!

This is a great spot to visit, but some navigation preparation is recommended. To assist:Roadside directions to Taylor's Crossing, Victorian Alps are not provided. At Taylor's Crossing, directions to Kennedy's Hut are not provided. So, make sure you have directions written down or photographed to keep yourself on track and safe (Vic Parks MIA).Exit Omeo northwards along the Omeo Hwy (C543). Turn right into Benambra Rd (C545).Enroute to Benambra, visit McMillans Lookout: a great vantage point with Mt Kosciuszko on the horizon. At Benambra, a good general shop is available and toilets are located nearby on the other side of the road.Continue along the Benambra Corryong Road (C545) until you reach Uplands Farm on the left and where Tablelands Road starts. Take Tablelands Road (dirt road). After a while, you will pass a T intersection where Lower Tablelands Road runs north. Continue straight ahead on Tablelands Road. Taylor's Crossing Campground is a bit further down in the foothills where the Mitta Mitta River flows.Consider taking a picnic lunch and a blanket or tablecloth to help enjoy the visit.

Awesome place to visit, river is gorgeous. Worth the visit. Use Google maps to get there because it's off the beaten track. No camping though. Open fire, picnic tables and composting toilet. The bridge is pretty unique also.

Great little spot. A shame the camping is across the river that was flowing too fast and too high to cross.
