JD's Ski Hire

Great staff, friendly and happy to accommodate needs. Snow boots for kids under 4 aren't full rubber like larger sizing. Chains were easy to hire and could pick up the day prior and drop off the day after at no extra charge.

This was our first time to the snow, so we were a little apprehensive about hiring and fitting snow chains.It turns out that we didn't need to worry at all since the staff at JD's made all that really easy for us by taking the time to measure our wheels, select the right chains and show us how to fit and remove them, even though they were very busy at the time.We also hired 4 large toboggans from here and although these were a little pricier than I thought they'd be, they were still very good quality and worked really well for us.

JD's has all the equipment needed for a day or days out at the snow. Kids ski, boot, poles and helmet package only $50 (2022) or board. Cheaper than on mountain and more convenient if you pick them up the day before.Staff are really relaxed but efficient.I got there 1 minute before closing to drop off the gear expecting them to say it was too late, however, they were welcoming and calm.

The gentleman running the store was friendly however, we had booked our gear months in advanced and when We arrived we Were told everything had sold out. It would have been good to receive some sort of notification about this as we are now left without any gear as all stores are sold out for the time we booked. If we had known the booking system was so unreliable we would had booked with a different company. Book with caution.

Terrible service from one of the staff. I want to pay for a beanie and was completely ignored by “the staff” He was happy enough to serve the new customers that walked in and told the young staff to help them first. I would like to say thank you to the young bloke that served me first and noticed that I was there for a while. To the staff that ignore me and try to cut other people in. I recommend you to take customer service training for future improvement.

I had been to 3 different stores trying to find fitting ski pants as I wanted to join friends for a day at the snow. No luck. I nearly wanted to give up when I saw JD's across the road and walked in. A friendly face spotted me instantly asking weather I needed any help. I said my old pants are no longer water proof and that I have been unlucky with trying to find anything that fits. He instantly reassured me that I could help. Asked for my DL and my details and sizes. He came back with a perfect fitting pair. I could not believe it. I was so impressed and happy that I felt like renting all. Louis even asked about chains and passes and did not leave anything out. He even went out of his way and organised a pink helmet for me as he had built such a rapport with me and noticed that I like things a bit special. I have been managing people for the last decade and I just wanted to take the time to say that you have a star employee here. I would like him to see him valued as he will be looking after my business and that of my family and friends every time. In fact two of my friends are going to JDs today. Dropped in my board which I have trashed over the last couple of seasons for a wax and tune. The bloke behind the counter was super helpful and said he would see what he could do. Half an hour later my board looks like I've just bought it, absolutely stoked with the service. Cheers legends
