Rustic Duck on Montagu
The Rustic Duck on Montagu is a high-school student-run cafe. It's only open on (some) Thursdays during school terms so check the FB page or phone for a booking. It's open to the public and produces superb food & coffee. I had the exceptionally-nice Minestrone Soup ($5) and world-class Cabbage Rolls (stuffed with rice and mince for $5) today as well as a tasty desert and coffee all for $18. It's spotlessly clean and the students are very pleasant. Well worth a trip. Note it is in the South Side (river side) campus of the school. There is a side entrance facing Montagu Rd so it's not necessary to pass through the main reception of the building.
