The Old Bank Hotel

I spent 9 wonderful days at the Old Bank Boutique Hotel. Barb and Warwick have restored and renovated the old bank to perfection. A wonderful place for family gatherings, groups or just a quiet retreat. Barb also runs the tastiest and visually stunning High Tea. It is worth your while to ring them direclty, they will give you a fabulous deal, let them know that Penny recommended you. They will treat you with style and grace and are always happy to see you. We were so impressed. The venue has been restored to perfection. All rooms have been decorated with a huge variety antiques & local historical pieces. The team there looked after our every need with great care, lovely home cooked breakfasts & off course good coffee. Thank you!

This hotel is sublime - a living, breathing, work of art. It is simply a privilege to stay here.The restoration of the beautiful, old bank in Mittagong by owners, Warwick and Barbara, is unlike any restoration project we have encountered or seen. It is exquisite. The hotel photos are lovely but wait till you get there! The rooms are bigger than pictured and more luxurious than you could ever imagine!This is the most beautiful hotel we have ever set foot in, both in this hemisphere and in Europe - and to our minds, easily beating any other offering in the Southern Highlands.Unrivalled hospitality by warm and generous hosts.Worth every penny. A charming historical hotel with beautiful antique decor that really showcases the history of this gorgeous Australian country town. If you stay at the main building(what used to be the town bank) it is well worth the price. Add to that the beautiful couple that will be your hosts... If you want your accommodation to add to your holiday experience then stay here!

We stayed at the stable and it was just beautiful. It was comfortable, homely and had everything we could think of. The rooms were clean and spotless. Fiona was very welcoming and friendly and made sure we were comfortable. Easy access to the town for meals. Totally recommend it.

The pictures on the website DO NOT do this hotel justice. My husband and I decided to get away for our one year anniversary / baby moon and The Old Bank Hotel did not disappoint. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable, the bathroom well appointed (loved the heated floor & towel rack), the bathrobes thick and soft, and everything was spotless. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable including giving up their office for an hour so that we could have a couples massage as the room we were staying in wasn't quite large enough to fit two massage tables and the therapists. All in all, it was everything we hoped for and more. This hotel is truly Mittagong's best kept secret" and they deserve your business during this challenging time."

Went on a Saturday lunchtime for their high tea. The food was fantastic and the service was very friendly, with a roaring log fire as our backdrop. They even made special mini high teas for our kids which went down a treat. Would thoroughly recommend and hope to visit again for an overnight stay.

Wow - what a lux hotel. My partner and I had the rare opportunity to be the only guests staying. The team leave everything you need accessible from water to wine glasses. The rooms are gorgeous and comfortable. Would recommend to anyone.

Outstanding! The hotel has been exceptionally restored. It has such a lovely cozy feel. The service was personal and responsive to our needs. We didnt end up eating there during our overnight stay but Barbara made excellent recommendations for local restaurants and cafes. We wouldnt hesitate to recommend it. Congratulations to the owners for saving this historic building with such style.

We spent two delightful nights at the hotel. From the moment our reservation was taken care of to the moment we departed we were always asked if we anything. Our room was beautiful appointed.It was so lovely to sleep in beautiful soft high quality thread count sheets. Soft and clean white towels, and enough amenities for us both. The rooms were very clean, our room had a fridge, kettle, tea, coffee capsule machine with many capsules to use, biscuits and milk. You could use a huge seduction of DVD’s from below. The air conditioning was excellent as it was close to 40 degrees outside and once we turned it on the room cooled down nicely. The other excellent feature is the hotel has two sitting rooms with lovely lounges. The hotel would be great if several couples went for a weekend. Thank you to the owners who welcomed us and couldn’t do anything more for us.
