Was so looking forward to this experience. The owner and host was amazing and friendly so was the decor and atmosphere. I loved the Arabic music playing in the background, made me want to get up and dance. Sitting outside overlooking the water gave it a nice touch. The food portion was good and presentation amazing. Unfortunately the food was bland. A little disappointing for such normally tasty cuisine. I liked the watermelon cocktail. The hibiscus tea was very weak , couldn’t really taste it. I’d give it another try tho!!

Authentic and delicious Egyptian food... in Forster of all places! The entry stairway, adorned with Pharaonic statues and decorations, leads up to the dining room and a beautiful balcony with a stunning lakeside view. The koshari felt like an old and treasured family recipe - a little light on lentils this time, but otherwise perfect in ratio, texture and flavour. The fried onions were outstanding.Next time you're in town, support this excellent local business and try the vibrant, unforgettable cuisine of Egypt.

Our expectations were high because of the beautiful decor. Food looked nice but the taste wasn't the best. Okra and eggplant dish tasted the same, so don't order both like we did. All we could taste was tomato, like out of a can. The table was sticky, the toilet had no soap. My fresh juice was very watery, not what I expected for $10. Nice atmosphere and views though.

Truly Delicious authentic Egyptian food. Warm hospitality and fantastic service in a vibrant indoor and outdoor setting and child friendly. Make sure you have the desert- Om Ali. Had a wonderful evening with the family.

Realy suprised at the hugh ratings. If ure a fan of ethnic food and want to try authentic dishes. I wouldnt reccomend it. We had Ordered a range of dishes-Tajin bameya and rice, falafels, baba ghanoush.Portion sizes were small. Food was not fresh (appeared to have just been reheated in microwave). Service was okay. Staff were friendly. Atmosphere is nice.If ure a drinker and like to be tipsy before you eat- you may find the food delicious but if ure a sober eater then it's not a place I'd reccomend.

The environment, decorations, and the location are impressive. The watermelon juice is very good. The foods look better than the taste , maybe it’s the first time we ever tried the Egyptian cruise.

My friends and I loved the restaurant at Forster. The owner sent out several dishes for us to try and we loved every one of them. The fact that they were family recipes made them even more special. The dessert was just like a warm hug and a delicious way to finish our evening. The wines matched perfectly. The cocktail list is great and the Luxor was my favourite. The owner was so welcoming and very attentive to our table. We will all be back very soon.

The service and atmosphere was very nice but the food somewhat not to our taste. Expensive and over priced! Not recommended!

Nice and friendly owner, a somewhat different ambience, but the food was really underwhelming. We were told by the owner that there were many vegan dishes to choose from. That’s not really true if you don’t count the salad and falafel starters. So, we went with Masaa’a - an eggplant dish and Koshari - something that looked and tasted like yesterdays leftover pasta (spaghetti, fussili and macaroni together) with chickpeas and fried onions. Both dishes were rather underwhelming but quite expensive. We did get falafel and tahini for starters and they were ok. But we were kind of tired of falafels being “the vegan option” in all restaurants. Anyways, we expected a lot - exotic flavours, options, variety - and got very little. In terms of ambience, it was kind of weird. The place has a lot of Egypt-themed statues and decorations. It also has a stage and a floor seating area which is probably cool when a performance is on. Maybe on a busy night we would have really enjoyed it. But we were there on a Tuesday night and we were the only customers in a massive dining room with all the statues around us and repetitive music. It felt very weird, tbh.To top it off - the toilets were horrendous! In the female toilets there were 2 cubicles, both of them hadn’t been flushed, and I mean the full package. The toilet paper was rolling across the entire floor, and it was just filthy. It was a quiet night, we were the only customers, surely they would have had time to check the toilets. Nobody did.Not recommending the place and not going there again.
