Interesting historical place. It's a working station run by Aborigines, and a great place to use as a springboard to explore the nearby beaches. Caretakers Paul and Nell are a delight, very friendly and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Would have liked to see the onsite museum but was unable to.

It's quiet and a lovely spot to relax. Watch the horses and cattle. Very well maintained. The Cottages are old fashioned buildings. Beautiful place just to put your feet up and enjoy the serenity.

We loved our 2 night camp stay here on the grass flats next to the old homestead and the Cassidy family made us very welcome. For those interested in the rich history of Mungalla and its indigenous owners going back to the 1880's, there is much to learn. There's also an abundance of bird life to view in the wetlands and we were lucky enough to have a sun basking croc pointed out to us.Whilst the facilities are basic, at $15 a night the experience on this working farm around the horses & cattle is a rich reward for so little outlay.

Lovely peaceful place with no facilities and at $15 per night, one would expect there to be at least a toilet. Would stay there again as we are self contained.

It's a great place to learn more about aboriginal culture and their history. We didn't really know much about this place before we came here, but they were friendly and welcoming when we arrived. We went upstairs in this historical building looking at a picturesk exhibition about the occupation of aboriginal land and some of how they got treated. We payed 5$ each. There's stories how some aborigiones got taken over to the US and Europe, being used in circus tours. It's a sad exhibition in that way. Believe the guided tours they provide is better to learn about actual aboriginal culture. These costs more though. The place has camping spot available as well for a decent price (think it was 15 a night). Would be nice staying a night here. Sometimes they spot crocodiles in the river nearby, they said.

Stunning place, the owner is really friendly! We were looking for crocks around, couldn't see them, but yes, they R here! Awesome spot to camp, really quite, and out of the noise. And not forget,: here, there are more than 230 different bird species!

So amazing. Jacob is such a wonderful man and getting to hear all about the land and the traditional owners was fantastic. Seeing the tools and weapons they used was also great, and just hearing the history was so cool. If you have a chance go!
