Great place for relaxing especially on the off season, clean, well serviced facilities, helpful staff and good fishing area. Well worth visiting, fun experience.

Great spot for a kayak. Shame that it is no jet skis or large outboards/ski boats but understandable due to it being a wildlife sanctuary. Thankfully Lake Bulleen Merri is around the corner spend a day at both it is worth it.

Lake Purrumbete
Lake Purrumbete is very less explored but if you check the direction through Google map it will take you to the middle of nowhere. Do not take the gravelroad rather keep driving and after few kilometres you will come to the Lakeside cafe which is a real find on the lake. The cafe has a views and it service good food and wine. The water is really blue and it is a real good time pass over there. Don't forget to visit if you travel around this area of Camperdown.

Lake Purrumbete is a deep lake adjacent to a seasonal wetland. Fishers and photographers love it. The large reed beds allow for breeding for water fowl and grebes. Larger birds such as pelicans and magpie geese are drawn to the lake in large numbers.

Apart from the visiting snakes it's a great place to relax.Had a good lot of fish to catch and eat and we have lovely neighbours

First time here and very poorly sign posted. The Public boat ramp is inside the Caravan Park but there's no signs to tell you that. Excellent boat ramp though. Just have to watch the depth as shallow < 1 metre so tilt your outboard up slightly to avoid the weed. Caught my first redfin on minnows that some other fishos who were leaving kindly gave me. John the Caravan Park owner very friendly and helpful with good range of tackle in his shop.

Beautiful volcanic lake nestled in its volcanic crater with a large old scoria quarry at the back.
