Food tastes like it's from Woolworths. If you order the battered whiting they give it to you crumbed. Worst meal I've had in a long time.

One of Wollongong's oldest pubs complete with sticky floorboards just so you know it's a real pub.Staff are genuinely lovely and the food is good traditional pub fare. Doubt it could be called a gourmet experience, but if you want a good honest pub meal, this is a good place for it and it's well priced.Great selection of beers and wines and an owner who knows his customers.Conveniently located within a few hundred metres of Wollongong railway station, pick your time to travel as this isn't the trendiest side of Wollongong, but it is lit well enough with ample street parking close by.

Never stayed overnight but the food is awesome.Service always friendly.Location is perfect right near train station in Wollongong, so if Ur in the area and waiting for a train it's perfectly located for a beer and a bite to eat.

If you want to get hassled by the bouncers it’s the go too place . Bar staff great . Security dose more drinking than the patrons . And yer . Avoid.. smells like old beer .

I get the impression the owner must've put a lot of effort involving community into this place, one of the few venues that support live music and allows bands. Tonight (11th June 2023) some folks put up an art installation which wasn't my taste but that's okay- it's nice to see someone allowing the community to have a go in these difficult times. With loads of historical pictures and artifacts on the walls, there's an easygoing ambience of yesteryear. Whether or not they put on the log fire during winter or they have the aircon cooling everyone in summer, it seems they're very focused on patron comfort and it seems to be working as the patrons range in age from the young all the way up to silver foxes and in between.I go here mostly for poker, it's one of the friendlier games in the Illawarra no matter which day or night i play, and the bistro must've changed management since most of the other reviews as the chicken schnitzel i received was fantastic taste and value, and i hear other players raving about the schnitzels and pies a LOT.Shoutout to the bartender's, they're kind and every so-often will ask if everyone's okay just to check if you're happy and well, or if they can help with anything. There's also special protocols in place for women who may be needing extra help.Someone commented that the floors are sticky. Absolute rubbish! The place is clean. It's not modern, this place has gone for an atmosphere of historic character"

Good old-fashioned pub at the slightly less salubrious end of the Gong.If you don't mind your feet sticking to the floor and want a good place for a reasonably priced drink and an honest pub meal, check it out.Staff are very friendly and they quite often have great music gigs.Worth checking it out.

We had a great St Patrick's Day at Diceys, good food, drinks, music, and a great atmosphere. Parking is not the best, but well worth it..
