Fantastic rock formations on drive up. Some dirt road but good. Views beautiful and a couple of very friendly kangaroos. Go in the morning and on a sunny day.

Beautiful place to watch a sunset. It’s an easy enough walk up to the summit from Dawson’s springs camp or you can even drive up to allow you to enjoy the dusk.

Great vantage point over the Nandewar Range with a westerly aspect, towards Narrabri.The forest has significantly regrown since the devastation in summer 2019-20

Breathtaking view that's easily accessible either from a car park a short walk away or via well formed hiking tracks. An incredible area that needs to be much better known. The drive here from Inverell is gorgeous too.

Mt Kaputar, it is a very winding narrow road that starts off dirt and goes to bitumen after a few kilometres definitely not suited to caravans and camper vans. wouldn't recommend it if you are not confident with narrow winding roads. The reward when you arrive at any one of the lookouts and definitely worth the drive. The small Circuit walk at Dawson Springs was lovely and easily doable with small children on a fine day

Mount Kaputar Summit lookout
Excellent views from the highest point in Mount Kaputar National Park, just a short walk up some steps from the car park. It's about a one hour drive from the nearest town (Narrabri), but well worth it. Just bear in mind it can be much cooler up on top than down on the plains below, due to the altitude.

Great, lots of walking trails.You can do short 15 mins or more. Wonderful views, well maintained.Seats and nice size carpark.Road up is narrow, good gravel road when we went up end September 2022. Beware of bends.I will return for more hiking and photograph.
