Sunrun Solar

We had a good experience with Sunrun (compared to some horror stories you hear about with other installers when doing research).The sales process/analysis done by the team was elite. They answered all questions promptly, and made it a simple and easy process.The install was great - clean, quick and professional.Would recommend these guys for sure.

I am very happy with the solar system installed by Sunrun Solar. The installation process was smooth and efficient, and the team was very professional and friendly. I was particularly impressed with Rahul, my customer service representative. He was always quick to respond to my questions and concerns, and he kept me updated on the progress of the installation throughout the process.

We had a 6.6kw system installed in May 2020. From sign up to connection to retailer was less than 7 weeks. I researched this to death over a few months and found Sunrun (Karyn) had great product knowledge and were very competitive with price. The installers they used were professional and on time. This is something you do once at your house and I’m glad I got it right!

On the day of the install is when things started going poorly.· Safety rails were installed in such a way that they scratched paint on my colorbond roof.· Holes were drilled in my brick wall for cable runs where the inverter was to be installed without determining first of there would be any challenges in doing so. Spoiler alert, the cable runs could not be internal as they for some reason couldn’t fit them through the space. This is something I believe could have been determined before drilling into the wall with a basic endoscopic camera. There are now siliconed holes in my brickwork. It’s weather tight, but a constant reminder of the unnecessary damage to the home.· Where the cable runs were required to be run externally due to the inability to run them through the wall, a roof sheet needed to be lifted. The screws that were removed were put back in without their rubber washers. The washers were left in the gutter.· A gutter hanger was left bent and damaged, not holding the gutter in that spot.· Gutter guards were not used for ladders anywhere a ladder was placed, resulting is paint being scratched off to the bare metal.· While on the roof, the installers caused damage to the paint in several areas visible from the ground. The paint was gouged down to the bare metal.· Dents were made in multiple places on the roof. These remain and wont be resolved.· Before shots were not taken of the roof for my records prior to beginning works as per request that was documented on my signed quote.

We had our solar installed through Sunrun Solar few years back and now recently they did a lighting project for our house. Great service and honest team of people. Left our home in a very tidy and clean manner. Highly recommend them for any electrical and solar work.

I was referred to Sunrun Solar from SolarQuotes. Highly recommend this service, quality & prompt installation, excellent communication from Rahul too. It took longer for my electricity provider to certify the installation - but thats outside of their control... ☀️

In summary, the installation process was not smooth with Sunrun taking shortcuts to minimise cost and effort, but the eventual result has been good apart from exposed electrical conduit inside the house.In detail: Sunrun installed my 4kW system about 18 months ago. It has been working well since installation but overall I was not impressed with Sunrun during the installation process. I requested that 6 panels have Tigo optimisers, and what they tried to install was 3 optimisers that do two panels each reducing the benefits of the optimisers. After some arguing with the sales guy over the phone they agreed to provide the quoted 6 optimisers.The electrical board is located in a bedroom, and the electrician claimed that it wasn't possible to install the wiring inside the wall cavity, resulting in conduit running down the wall inside the house which was not attractive at all. Following installation I got up onto the roof to check out the installation and found that two of the panels were scratched, and also a bunch of excess screws had just been thrown into the gutter.  The actual external installation looked OK apart from that. It took a lot of discussions" with Sunrun but eventually they came and replaced the two panels. A small amount of sealant had been spilt on the carpet and an RCD tripped on turning on one of the lights

Dealing with Sunrun was a pleasurable experience.Ravi was very patient with my inquiries. I like to know all the variables, so I requested 7 different quotes for our new system. Different panels brands, string, Optimizers, inverters, and overall size.Paid the deposit in late 2020, but because of Covid the Installation could not be done until mid Feb 2021. Ravi kept in contact to let me know expected dates.The installers turned up promptly about 7am as expected and progressed swiftly to have it finished by approx 1am in the day. They were courteous and discussed the installation with me and answered my questions.The inverter was placed along side our switch box which is in the garage, and looks very neat and tidy.Ravi organized all of the documents we needed, and contacted our Electricity retailer to get our solar connection finished.Dealing with Sunrun was pleasant overall, except for an error by the installing electricians and the time it took for this error to be rectified.I will recommend SunRun Solar to anyone that is in the market from now on.

I’m always someone that does my research before purchasing something and solar was no different. I interviewed 4 companies as I didn’t want any cowboys doing the job. Sunrun sent Julien who works in the office and understood the systems and any answers he didn’t have he went back and ask his colleagues and then emailed us back. There was no pressure to buy, they waited on us to get back to them. Other companies sent a salesman and most of the time I knew more about the systems then they did!Install date was set in a reasonable time and then got a call to say a space had come up sooner and would I like to move the install date (which I did)Installing team was great it was lead by Gerard and he had 2 lads with him. Install was well done, we’ve had the system 4 months without any problems so far. Next door was so impressed with their install (next door neighbour is an electrician) they got the same guys to do their solar install as well.Paperwork for rebate sent off and signing off was done within a week.Also to top it off they installed on a 46degree day! If I was them I would have rescheduled but I guess they keep their promises.Thank you Sunrun
