Pet friendly" rooms are not pet friendly. Charged a $200 cleaning fee due to "excessive fur" and denied we ever mentioned having dogs with us. No mention of any issues or fees related to pets during check-in or on the multiple times the owner saw us with our dogs. If you are looking here for pet friendly then don't bother. Owners are clearly seasoned veterans in making extra money from customers"

Stayed at this Motel a couple of years ago and it was great. Stayed again Feb 2023. OMG what a change! The bed only had 3 legs, the bathroom sink tap was lose and flipped out of the socket when turned on, the bathroom door didn't shut probably. I don't know about the other rooms but this room needs a total facelift.

Manager was lovely and very accommodating. After expedia/flght centre overcharged and neglected to add that we had our fur baby with us she waived the cleaning fee ( $30 happy to pay). Room clean,tidy and comfortable. Not many places inBroken hill allow dogs so thankyou desert sands. Would recommend.

We had the pet friendly room which had 1 queen and 3 single beds in the 2nd room. Comfortable bed.Close by to good restaurants and park for the dog to run around.Friendly receptionist.

Would never stay here again, found a local in the pool one night, he was homeless , had all his belongings with him in the pool area, when the office people were told the next morning, they said yes the locals come in the pool to bath.Never again. This is the only thing I could fault it for.

Turned up to check in and there was no one there. I rang the number and they said I had booked for the night before so they cancelled my booking. We received no phone call to advise us. The lady was quite rude, not helpful at all. We didn't receive a confirmation, my fault for not checking I guess. Luckily we were able to get into the Sturt Motel. Absolutely lovely reception staff and the rooms are lot nicer. A Blessing in disguise!

When we first arrived, there was no booking even though I had booked it a few days before. However it was lovely as we have 2 show dogs and were more than happy to pay the extra $30 for the room for the steam cleaning once we left.We had to watch our boy even though the carpet was steam cleaned, I don't believe that the bottom of the ensemble on the corners was cleaned. We had to leave him in the bathroom because he was smelling where another dog's scent was. We were very aware of him smelling another dog's scent so frequently took him out so he could toilet.
