Central Motel Longreach

After getting messed around with another place in town, my friend and I though we were going to sleep on the streets of Longreach. The locals advised not to stay here, but by 10pm we didn’t know what else to do. Tried calling 3 times with no answer. We were walking to the Tavern when we saw these guys were open and thought screw it - at least it will be warm - and popped in to see if there was any rooms available. There was one.Got to the room, 1 bed had a blanket, the other just had sheets. Tried to work the heater but couldn’t figure it out. Called downstairs and again had to call 3 times before I got an answer. The lady at the bar said there were no blankets, only sheets left and that she couldn’t leave the bar as she was the only staff member on. She did come to the room and was polite, however she didn’t know how to operate the heater and came with only one blanket which she said was from an unoccupied room. After another hour of messing around in the room, we finally figured out how to work the aircon.Next morning we go to make a coffee and quick oats breakfast only to find that there was one cup, no bowls, plates or cutlery. We couldn’t ring anyone after hours and they are only staffed from 9am (this is what the lady from the night before told us). We spoke to the owner at 9am and voiced everything that happened and we requested at least a partial refund. He told us to put it in writing and email him. We did this and waited a week for a reply. After a phone call he said he would respond to the email. He responded and refused to give any kind of refund and has been rude and short with us in all communication.I highly recommend NOT staying here if you are looking for a place to stay in Longreach.

Room stunk of bleach, cockroaches in the bathroom and dirty floors that were unswept. Good amenities with a nice shower, kettle & microwave. Large room, check in lady was nice. Noisy people and were not warned for their foul language.

The room was perfect we had the cabin and a motel room both were clean and the beds were comfortable. We heard no noise from the hotel,although my sister-inlaw who was in the front room said that she heard a bit of yahooing when the pub closed. The young lady that checked me in was very pleasant it was her first day she also had to serve the very busy bottle shop, but I didn't mind the wait and told her to serve them first. It was very close to shops very convenient we would definitely recommend this motel

To begin our stay the lady at the front bar was yelling and swearing over the bar to talk to her friends. When we went upstairs we were greeted by a VERY loud and extremely irritating fire alarm beeping, constantly. Which was especially annoying as we had arrived late and needed to be up early to hit the road home. To add to it, the bed rolled around the room with every movement to the point we had to put shoes underneath to tey and stop it, which wasn’t very successful. The shower had empty shampoo bottles in it as well as the apartment not looking very clean at all. Definitely wouldn’t recommend! We should have slept in the car like we planned.

Read the replies from owner with regards to this place....says a lot.All I can say is that I will never stay in any motel in Longreach ever again especially this one.They are all way over priced and not a good standard.The room was large and tidy however the amount of dust everywhere, other people's waste left in shower tray and state of the shower (see photos) it was definitely not clean. The pictures of the bar and food area must be from 1980 when it was refurbished.I very very rarely give such a negative review but this place leaves you no options.

We book into a pet friendly room for $180 a nightGot the key opened the door and the whole room smelt like peeI went back to the bar and told the lady and she gave me another key and said oh sorry the cleaners mustn’t have cleaned that room yet.Walked into the next room and the floor was absolutely filthyLooked in the bathroom and there were that many hairs in the shower.No shower curtainAfter calling all the other accommodation place’s available in Longreach and finding nothing we had no choice but to drive back to Ilfracombe to stay (which was lovely by the way)When I took the key back to the bar and said we wouldn’t be staying cause it’s just disgusting she yelled at me that I wouldn’t be getting a refund and she’s not the manager so she’s not the one to speak to.I asked if she could get him to call me regarding the refund and all I got was more attitude.I just said well I don’t care I’m not staying in that filth and walked out on her.I wouldn’t even let my dog stay there.Will never be staying in Longreach againNo pet friendly accomodation is good there at allSuch a shame

A lot of mobey for not very much. Very noisy floor, mouse poo on the bed, no heating and temp went down to 1 Deg, we brought up our own blankets so that we wouldn't freeze. Room at end of a long dark hallway, need a torch to find lock on the door. Dirty floors especially in the bathrooms. We won't be back

The walls maybe bessa brick but you hear everything. What has pushed up motel prices in longreach? Try to plan not to stay in this town. This motel is best value but is only worth $70 a night

Basic room with no milk or water but all the other things you expect, shampoo etc were supplied. Location is right in the middle of everything. All up good value.

Well first of all walked in and the room was a disgrace, there was mouse In my room running around and I’m PETRIFIED of them!!! There was that much dust And there weren’t enough towels the bed sheets were disgusting and there were stains and hairs all over beds and in the shower. There was no fitted sheet on one of the beds just a top sheet with no blanket. There were insects in the microwave and slime in the kettle and mould in the toaster.VERY DISAPPOINTED WOULDN'T RECOMMEND ENDED UP IN SWAGS ON BACK OF UTE!
