DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR CAMPING (in tents).Allocated areas are an extension of the hard gravel road and completely unsuitable for people camping in standard tents-impossible to put pegs in.Surrounding area is nice dry bushland but quite close to the neighbouring private property- road and property noise a little more intrusive than would usually be expected in a NP. Unfortunately as we were only passing through we did not have time to experience any of the walks in the park as all were several hours long and most left from different areas in the park. It is unfortunate that this is the only option for campers within close proximity to Adelaide when driving up from the south through McLaren Vale that is not an expensive caravan park with limited office hours.

You will have to book before to camp here, they have 11 camp sites, one toilet. pink gum had various hiking trails each different we had a good time. the ground here is hard, so please bring the necessary tools if you have a tent.

I have never seen a camping" specific site that uses such ridiculously hard base material. Can barely get a peg in with a hammer. Was tempted to camp a few metres off the main location

Great campground but a little to open to other campers. Would be nice if there were some bike trails for the kids not just walking trails, had to drive 20 minutes to get to a bike trail.Good facilities though and clean

It is one of the best forest/hill camping site we have visited in South Australia. Campsites are surrounded by beautiful trees and you can see rabbits (koalas) running around. There’s good sized fire pits to warm up and enjoy bbq. Just a note to take good sized pegs and hammer because surface ground is very hard and can easily bend small pegs other than that site is enjoyable in every sense.

No shade, no grass and certainly no pink gums. The sites are made of roadbase so no way you could hammer in a tent peg. The only toilet is about 50 metres from the closest camp-site. Not very convenient at night. Which of course means toilet paper in the bush.I think this must have been designed by a committee of bulldozer drivers. It seems the opposite of what National Parks stand for.

The campsite is big and flat, there’s a flushing toilet which is pretty clean, the river hike is a nice workout suitable for anyone as it’s only about 4km return? Only downside is campsite are pretty close to each other but I found that it’s something common for all national park campgrounds.

The campsites are nicely spaced, the ground is tent peg bending hard. We stayed in site no 11, Tent only. So hard that we ended up using rocks for Guy wires. We'll be bringing the wireless drill and screw tent pegs for the next time. There's some stunning scenery, it's a fantastic park to visit and close to town and the wineries.

Loved this campground! Everything was great about it, near to the city, $17 fee/night, easily accessible by 2wd, clean flush toilet, reasonable size campsite. We stayed in site 11, which was an average size site with firepit but hard ground needs good, strong pegs (manageable). There are Quite a few walking trails around. I loved the calmness and overall feeling of the place. Highly recommended
