my cell was quite spacious and the meals were hand made, though it wasn't like the movies and after dropping the soap multiple time i realized no-one wanted me as there butch. apart from the lack of shower insdents i really enjoyed my time here and might commit arson again to get back in

Stayed there in 2004 & just spent time there again..It hasn't changed at all..Area 2-1,2 & 4 wing in the main need to be shut down..Area 1-SMAPS - Boneyard is apparently clean & new..Hunter & Shortland all new..Wonder why Prisoners act like caged animals,,Old Cessnock is why..Shut it down CSI...

All our police officers and correction officers do is try. To do their jobs how you treat them is how they will treat you.Cheers for helping out with keeping our community SAFE FROM CRIME.

My cell was great....although different to the brochures. Room service was non existent. Some of the other holiday makers were a bit rapey and violent...probably wouldn't visit again.

Very fun would tax evade again all the fellas in ere are good mates, food exceptional, roommate was friendly but i reccomend you stay away from that Garry! He's a bit of a rascal

Cessnock is far from a place you could state as helpful in its running of it's prison. Most of the time the squad assault the weak ,frail and elderly inmates. The low life officers are the worst in the state and feel there roll is to antagonize inmates

Try get in early and grab the chicken, veggies and terriaki, this tends to sell out first. The steak is below average, I tried to take mine back as it was a little over cooked and I asked for medium rare. Also quite overpriced, regardless, options are limited unless you want to share the free “meat” pie.Desert was good, they have a great range of maxibons.Seating area is nice, sun drenched leafy and open, however not ideal for a winter visit. It’s equiped with a children’s playground, but I wouldn’t suggest leaving your child unsupervised It’s a bit of a sketchy area.Highly suggested:Go early, process is slow and staff are not very welcoming or hospitable, you’re ironically made to feel like a criminal.Take coins.. LOTS.If you’re really doing it tough, the lockers take 5c pieces, but you get your coin back on locker return anyway.Comfy modest clothes, sunglasses and hand sanitiser for after.. oh and go to the toilet WELL before. Toilet facilities are questionable.

Visiting is a slow process. By the end of it you will feel like a criminal.You can take $30 of coins in to the minimal security area to buy food or drinks from vending machines.

I havent been here but it doesn't sound that bad.
