Honestly, I don’t know how they got 4.5 star rating. The coffee we had this morning was one of the worst I’ve ever had. The waffle wasn’t baked. It seemed like it was marinated in the oil. The only reason I didn’t give 1 star is because the counter lady was nice.

Yeh it’s pod coffee (nespresso), but its hardly terrible and no different to what you’d have at home and rave about! Good range of sweets and the outdoor eating area is nice. Friendly service and nice enough spot - not like there is much competition either with only two cafes in the town!

Great place to stop for lunch. Good menu and all home made. We had the lambshank and the pumpkin soup. Lactose, gluten and vegan friendly. We also bought some local honey. Nice fire to sit beside as well. Excellent.

Stopped for a late lunch here and ordered the spaghetti bolognese. It was clearly reheated in the microwave including the pasta. The pasta on the edge of the plate was dried out to the point of being crispy! The bolognese sauce was watery and bland. Couldn’t actually force myself to eat it.Shame as the place was quite charming and has the potential to be a great stop!

Little oasis on a long drive from Hobart to Strahan. Excellent coffee and snacks in a quirky, quaint little shop". All freshly made

We visited this little cafe whilst driving through Hamilton. It is tucked away in a small building on the main Street of Hamilton, and we nearly missed it driving past. The decor is colonial / traditional and does justice to the history of the area. Whilst it was busy inside, service was prompt. The menu had a wide variety of lunch options, as well as a all day breakfast option. We ordered a veggie burger and vegetarian yellow curry. Both dishes were reportedly made primarily from local ingredients. What the meals lacked in aesthetics, they made up with flavour. They also sell a number of homemade jams and condiments that we purchased, but are yet to taste. Definitely worth calling into of your driving through the area. Moreover, if you are driving from Hobart to the west coast, this is probably your last option for decent dining food.

The building and staff were inviting, however both the beef burger and curried sausages were terrible. The curried sausages had all of 5 small pieces of sausages, totalling one sausage at best, with a gelatinous sauce and reheated rice. The dish was inedible. The beef burgers were home made, but the patties were bland and under-seasoned. One burger had relish and the other did not. I had to go in and ask for the drinks we ordered, and the coffee was undrinkable. Happy to donate my money on this occasion, but sadly, we will not be back.

Had the curried sausages that were bland but edible. The spaghetti was microwaved within an inch of its life and not edible. The cafe was quirky looking and interesting. Shame about the food.

Really nice little place only 40 minutes out of Hobart and with a really lovely drive through the Derwent Valley. The Cafe is really cozy and the food fresh and plentiful. A nice range of local produce and crafts without being too cramped and busy.Hamilton is a great stop for lunch or just a quick break on a longer motorcycle journey.
