My 10yr old son had been doing karate with Sensei Sam for about 1.5yrs before I joined in during a few training sessions. And once I started I couldn't go back to sitting on the sidelines! Such a great way to keep fit and strong and tune both body and mind at the same time!

Yushukan is THE fun way of learning self defence!  You understand by applying the basics you learned throuh partner work  Not only is that fun but it also deepens the understanding of why.Yushukan is an  inspiring and motivating way of keeping me engaged in personal health and fitness. Every time I learn more about my body and myself and I can push myself a little bit further. I only started 3 years ago, age 45. I re-discovered self-dicipline,  perseverance and grown a natural ambition! I can only imagine how I would feel if I had stared on this journey earlier.

Sam is an excellent Sensei. He is thorough and holistic in his approach. By that I mean he builds confidence in the physical movement and patterns which are Karate and couples them with the ethos, spirit and disipline which is the other equally, if not more important aspect of karate. My son, who is 7 and a half is benefiting greatly through this guided approach to karate and life in general. I have no hesitation in recommending Sam Seigers Yushukan Karate to anyone who is thinking about engaging in this activity.

My kids and I joined Yushukan Applied Karate as a family activity to improve fitness, focus and spend time together. We started in early 2022 and immediately felt comfortable at the Tweed Heads South Dojo with Sensei Sam and Sempai Luke. We enjoy the traditional style of Goju Ryu karate that Sensei Sam teaches and always feel comfortable discussing techniques and asking questions. We attend 1-2 classes a week and have all noticed an improvement in our fitness, especially core strength, and our focus. We love the variety of the lessons and have become more confident in our ability to use our karate for self-defence. We can’t wait for our next grading!

I'm 50 and got my black belt in karate many years ago.I've recently felt the call to delve deeper into the arts and stumbled across Yushukan!So glad I did. This is the core to all my previous training.It's hard work and good fun. Definetly a school of excellence.
