Good food at very reasonable prices and cheap drinks at the bar. Main 'outdoor' seating area is a little sparse and was quite humid since there is very little air flow.

Good day. Being a local went for a Lager in the evening - Felt that post C19 restrictions the booking management OR availability should be made clear atleast somewhere or on the website. Wont be back in a HURRY.

This place has recently been done up and no longer resembles a student bar. Decor is great for functions of a higher standard than that, but the purpose of this place should be primarily for students

I had a lot of fun here when I attended La Trobe for a semester on exchange. Is it the best bar in Melbourne? No. Is there still fun to be had? Absolutely.

The Eagle Bar is now a venue to be hired out at the University's will. Bring back the Eagle Bar for the Students of La Trobe!!

I thought this was the 'Eagle Bar' not the 'Eagle Hairdresser'; because the last time I saw that amount of hair found elsewhere from someone's person was when I had my hair shaved off. There was that many bloody strands of hair on my parma that it should be renamed the 'Eagle Perm-igiana'.The beer; awful. The bartender poured multiple pots, and tossed them all away because there were floating black things in the glass. Disgusting!Absolutely disgraceful from the lads and lasses down at the Weagle Bar. Shocking food, shocking beer, and terrible prices! Would not recommend!

We ordered two braised beef and they brought 1 after 5 minutes. We waited for the second braised beef for about 30 minuets. Not cool at all.

Hmmm, ok, well what happened here!? They had a good comeback 3 months ago, bringing back the old eagle bar menu! Now it is gone!If you want a burger that looks great, has a burnt, small sized, hard beef pattie, here is definitely the place to go! We returned 2 burgers back the kitchen on this sitting!Me and my peers are not longer coming here for the food!

The venue is mostly a well-thought open space for college students to gather and have some fun, with the possibility of playing pool, watch some footy or simply hang around with a beer or two.Notwithstanding the fact it seems to cater well for a certain type of customers, I mostly have negative memories of the Eagle Bar.1. The place is cold. Aussies seem not to mind, but I beg to differ. Get some heating.2. Although some bartenders know their business, waiters are amateurish and service is nonexistent. At night, the bar is crowded beyond belief by youths starving for the umpteenth drink. Waiters take away your unfinished glass of wine when you are watching. Some don't even know the names of basic mixes and cocktails.3. Working hours are short, with the bar closing right after I used to leave work. 6 pm it was all over. Only pub-like venue on campus, yet the worst place to end your working day since it will likely be shut when you get there.4. Between 12 and 2 pm, simple dishes are served for the hungry ones. But it is the same stuff over and over again. The most popular deal is the Parmageddon day in which you get Chicken Parma at a discount. It is not delicious, but fills you in.5. Occasionally, they organise student nights, with dubious dj sets or bands of mixed skill level. Unsurprisingly for Australia, the pub chooses not to cater for food on sich student nights and thus it elicits that binge drinking culture that has a lot to do with alcohol addiction and very little to do with social engagement. So it's a lunch venue by day and a drinking hole by night. Some times, a bbq will be there, managed by some students' club seeking fubds; meat is guaranteed to be the lowest quality ever, and the widespread Australian inability to get snags into proper buns (much like Bunning's Sunday BBQs) makes it so that you will get your würstel served on some random white bread slice - - with more sugar than wheat.6. As you wander through an unforgiving crowd of drunk or stoned individuals, boys and girls alike, you realise consent is a faint myth in an environment where everyone is intoxicated by something. You might try to find shelter in the filthy restroom, but wallpapers on how to get out of depression will exacerbate the feeling of helplessness.
