I run a building business and have used Mick for all our solid plastering works for the last 6 years. In that time I have found Mick to be an outstanding tradesman and an absolute authority on cementitious surface finishes. When I built my own home i used Mick for all the hard finishes on the inside and outside of the home - and relied on him heavily for advise on the best materials and finishes to use.... i wouldn't use anyone else. Mick services aren't cheap.........because why would u want a cheap job? Highly recommended

I looked around many places to try and find a unique, seamless finish and water proof look for my bathroom wall - after consulting a number of different companies I found Mick. He was so helpful in ensuring I had the right type of finish for the style I was hoping and ensured it was a practical solution (I have a very old house with high ceilings so a real challenge). The wall has turned out better than I could have expected and Mick has done an amazing job - also ensuring I was consulted all the way... and I am still able to ask questions post the installation - I highly recommend using Catela!

We recently hired Mick to apply some Venetian plaster on the walls and benches of our new gelato shop in Northcote and we couldn't be happier with the results. A rebuild was necessary because of poorly installed second storey walls built by a previous builder.Mick from Catela got to work and came up with a plan to remediate the polystyrene walls using the recommended installation procedure.The job required meticulous planning as the design of the walls included various angles over four wall faces. And the works included the demolishment of the bottom half of the existing walls.Additionally, the bottom edge of the new walls had to follow a three-dimensional wave-shaped lower roofline. This reconstruction was no mean feat.In only a few days, Mick and his offsider, Matt, had completed the job. Two undercoats of render and two topcoats have the new walls looking better than when they were new.And we know, due to previous work done by Mick for us, that the new polystyrene walls will last a lifetime, thanks to the Catela team.We couldn’t be happier.Reay and Neil

After looking long and hard for a contractor to complete a scope out of the norm, Catela were highly recommended by multiple leading suppliers to complete a mammoth amount of Venetian plastering at a hair salon fit out in Mentone.I have been in the high end building industry for close to 20 years and I can definitely say that Michael’s craftsmanship is second to none.Catela were also very client focused, working through the Christmas and new years period ensuring the space opened in time for trading.They heavily protected all working areas prior to starting and took care around other peoples finished work which is hard to find in this industry.Once they were completed they cleaned up after themselves as well!Words and photos will not do these guys justice, come and check their work out yourself at Alarah Hair Studio Mentone, more than impressive!

Mick’s knowledge of his trade is second to none and the level of finish & detail he delivers for every project is a true indication of the passion he has for his craft. Its great to watch a tradesmen that takes no short cuts and produces work that will last another 100 years. Catela have done an incredible job at my renovation in Bayside. I was recommended Mick and his team to complete a very bespoke external render finish I was after to achieve a 1960s/70s style aesthetic and Mick absolutely nailed it. The outcome is fantastic and we couldn't be happier. Mick and Matt were very professional with great communication and exceptional attention to detail. Mick is very proud of his work and the result is a house finish that everyone is complementing. Would highly recommend for both exterior and interior custom wall finishes.

We are so grateful to have found a true artisan in Mick and his Catela crew. Faced with a 3 storey, 140 year old Victorian terrace with a crumbling edifice, huge cracks, damaged and missing pieces of facade, Mick literally brought our home back to life.
