Beer is nice and cold. The rooms are warm and dry. The staff are friendly and cheerful to everyone and they go out of their way to be helpful and kind. There is a pool table and large screen for watching sports. Outside is a beer garden and it has a heater for gold nights. I forgot to say : they have a kitchen that cooks very yummy foods.

Pubs in small farming towns need to cater for their regulars, but the meals at this pub were not very good. The meatballs had a hard crust as if they had sat for too long in a baine marie. I had a porterhouse steak which is usually a safe choice but the steak was small and the mushrooms struggled to assert themselves over the gravy taste. Unfortunately there are few other choices for dinner in Cobden.
