Castlecrag Medical Practice

I have been coming here since I was a child, and keep coming back over the years. Exceptional, friendly, compassionate care. Much much more than your average GP. And the administrative staff are always helpful and accommodating. I now bring my children here too and wouldn’t go anywhere else.

This is just the best GP practice. Each of doctors are incredibly competent but also have a very engaging manner and are clearly concerned about patients welfare. Dr Nash and Dr Telan are our go to’s but they’re all helpful, thoughtful and kind, as are the reception team.

Dr Valerie Qu is absolutely amazing. I travel from another suburb to see her. She takes the time to listen, explain things and is compassionate. An absolute star.

I am a very long and loyal patient of this wonderful medical practice. My family and I have continued to return here, even after moving from the local area. Excellent doctors and reception staff, very highly and trustfully recommended.

This family general practice provides a very personalised service from excellent, experienced medical practitioners who take their time to deliver precision, patient-focused care. I have always been treated with courtesy and respect by the polite and friendly staff.

I cannot rate this practice more highly. I have been a patient here for 20 years and they now also look after my children. We have all received the very best care and I am incredibly grateful that we see practitioners that we trust and know they really do have our best health interests at heart.

It can be so hard to find a good GP but these ones are great. I've been seeing Dr. Telan for over 25 years. I also recently saw Dr. Shireen and she was excellent too- really thorough, kind, calm, and didn't rush. The Reception staff are lovely. Highly recommend this medical practice.

The front office was professional, efficient, welcoming both over the phone and in person. This 1 star review applies to Dr Catherine Jessop.We very recently moved to Sydney. I booked back to back appointments for both myself and my 4 year old daughter. I was looking forward to meeting our new family doctor - it is an important relationship and I have always had great doctors in the past. I have lived in NYC, Los Angeles and most recently the regional NSW. I have had excellent medical care in each place and always liked my doctors. My best friend in NYC is a doctor who was trained at Harvard and Columbia, we often discuss his work and his practice and I have great respect for and value good doctors.I arrived 5 minutes early, having already filled out the new patient forms online. Dr Jessop proceeded to treat me with unsmiling, unfriendly impatience, starting with brusquely telling my daughter to close the door. When I said I had a few things to discuss she told me rudely and mean spiritedly that I only have 15 minutes. I said, ok, I'm not sure why that is, I thought more time was booked for this initial for my daughter and I both. She said nothing, just pointedly stared at me, again this cold, disdain. I have never encountered a medical professional with such poor bedside manner and evident disdain for a patient.The appointment devolved from there with Dr Jessop questioning my eligibility request for a specialist referral, and displaying evident disdain for my responses to her questions. My daughter and I left, extremely upset by our treatment. The front desk said that they did not know why Dr Jessop told me we only had 15 minutes, as 30 minutes had been allocated, ample time for an initial and to discuss a few matters. They apologized and genuinely were warm and sorry.I do not know why Dr Catherine Jessop was so unprofessional in our appointment. I suspect there were biases at play of which she is not even aware that affected the way she treated me in her office. I am not caucasian. I was dressed casually (chinos and a cardigan and hi tops - we were going to the park after the appt). Who knows? Perhaps Dr Jessop was just having a very bad day and couldn't be professional with anyone at 3.45pm on a Monday? Whatever the cause for her behavior, it was jarring and upsetting to be treated this way by a complete stranger who is supposed to be an important and trusted health professional. No-one should have to experience this from a doctor.

My family have been attending this practice for about 20 years. The doctors are great, and make you feel comfortable when discussing your medical situation which is always dealt with appropriately. The reception staff are always friendly and attentive. Highly recommended

I have only ever had positive experiences at the Castlecrag Medical Practice which I have attended for over 30 years. The staff are friendly and go above and beyond to be helpful.My regular GP, Dr S Meagher, is very thorough and a fantastic doctor. Dr G Nash is also excellent. I highly recommend this practice.
