Over $600 an hour labour cost?First the positives, emailed request as I has used them before on an urgent job and had not really considered the cost. Turned up when they said they would and did the job quickly (less than 3 hours from start to finish including leaving for about half that to get materials).The not so positives. I had a kitchen mixer tap replaced, a new cistern including seat put in a toilet (not the pan, just a leaking cistern) and replaced the sacrificial anode and T&PR valves in our hot water system. None of the work was urgent and I told the person that at the time.I asked for a breakdown of the materials and after about a week was told they charge a job" or "task" rate. Anyway

The service provided by Alex from Chiswick Plumbing was exceptional. Last minute call out due to a busted pipe, they repaired it super quick and was better than new. Highly recommend these guys and will be using them again in the future.

I had Alex out the other day to fix a leaky gas connector. He arrived a little after 7 am in the morning and quickly diagnosed the issue.He went to Bunnings to purchase a replacement, returned at 8:09, fitted the connector by 8:25 and was out the door by 8:42.He charged $711.26. The replacement part appears to cost $22.30.I had to accept the exorbitant charge as I was settling on the sale of the house later that day.I have since spoken to a manager at Chiswick who said, plumbers can charge an arm and a leg". He said I should have asked Alex for a discount."

It was a dark and gloomy day. The clouds taking over the skies and the thunder was cracking like a whip on a farm. I called Chiswick as my yard had flooded the last few times we had heavy rain. Out came Alex to assess the situation.It was like something out of a movie, as soon as he arrived, the skies began to clear up. The sun popped its face out from behind the clouds, and a renewed optimism had come over to me, as Alex spoke calmly and gave me a few options to fix the flooding problem.We had agreed to run an Ag pipe throughout the yard, approx 30m worth. This to me, sounded like a massive job and quite an expensive one. But to Alex, this was his bread and butter.Within the hour, he has all the tools, equipment and help that he needed.I felt so at ease and trusting of Alex and his crew, that I had the chance to sit and watch “the office” on tv and enjoy my cup of coffee. This is something I haven’t done in a while, so thank you Alex, and thank you Chiswick.My yard has not flooded since, and I will definitely use Alex again. What a gentlemen!

Alex and Josh (and another plumber whose name I don’t know) attended my request for assistance with a water leak in the kitchen. Their investigation revealed the need for replacement plumbing which solved the problem and prevented other age related concerns that were previously unknown to me. I have always found the team at Chiswick Plumbing to be honest and helpful, leaving decision making about repairs or replacements to me. I have become acquainted with this service over a number of years and would not consider using another company.

I have been assisted by Alex on two different occasions. I'm sure there are several 'really good' plumbers around but what I have found Alex's stand out quality to be is that he actually 'listens' to the customer and offers solutions to assist in the decision making process. I have always felt valued - thank you Alex.
