Lamb croquette and crab cakes just scream unique. The croquettes were perfectly fried and super light. It paired really well with all the vegetables. Crab cakes were amazing. The poached eggs were perfectly runny and went extremely well with the mango salsa.The smoothies were fantastic. I could have these everyday if I could. They were refreshing and perfectly balanced. The toppings didn’t overpower the drink nor got overwhelming which often occurs with some smoothies.Highly recommend temperance society if you haven’t visited. It’s close to chaddy so it’s a perfect way to eat good food then walk it all off at the shops.

UPDATE: So I came back and decided to give this place another chance and were SO SO happy they’ve upped their game to what I remember! I got the lamb croquettes which although not a huge dish, left me perfectly satisfied as it was perfectly cooked, delicately crumbed and very filling. The single origin black coffee was also some of the best I’ve had recently, using the great Inglewood coffee beans. Worth a visit!..Very pretty dishes but flavours were disappointing and lackluster. Got the Mango Panna cotta which was very plain and quite expensive for what we got - essentially mango pudding with a bit of chocolate cake inside and some slices of fruit for $22.

I had the pleasure of visiting this cafe for breakfast and I have to say, it was an outstanding experience. The French toast was absolutely divine - it was cooked to perfection and had just the right amount of sweetness. I couldn't resist ordering the green punch smoothie, and I'm glad I did because it was truly a star I recommend this! The combination of flavors was unique and refreshing, and it was a great accompaniment to my meal.I also tried the crispy hash stack, which was a real treat. The hash browns were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the toppings were absolutely delicious. The sides were just as tasty and really rounded out the meal. The service was excellent - the staff were attentive, friendly, and accommodating. They made us feel very welcome and we didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive. The ambience of the cafe was also great - it was cozy and inviting, and the decor was charming.Overall, I highly recommend this cafe for anyone looking for a delicious breakfast with great service in a lovely atmosphere. The French toast, green pinch smoothie, and crispy hash stack were all exceptional, and I can't wait to go back and try more of their dishes!!

Delicious food, smoothies and ambience was great, dog friendly cafe is always a bonus. I ordered the pink smoothie which was really refreshing and not too sweet, and paired nicely with the fried chicken power bowl I ordered and added potato rosti, which was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, perfectly cooked. The service was also amazing, I would definitely go back here again with some friends! and my dog!

Temperance society is a great cafe to visit on the south-east side of Melbourne. I love that the cafe has a indoor seating area as well as a courtyard that is heated for the winter period.They have such an extensive menu including sandwiches and lunch options. They also have some great baked goodies in the window including muffins. One of the dishes we had were the hash brown egg benny with avocado & salmon. It was so tasty and filling. Then we ordered the crab cakes with broccolini that was light and had great flavour. I also loved the prana chai & coffees were so smooth in flavour.The staff are incredibly friendly and make sure you have everything you need.
