Western Diagnostic Pathology

Long story: I had a blood test here in September 2022, and was told at the time that there was no charge. I received an invoice for the blood test in March 2023. I was pursued with multiple overdue notices and debt collection references after informing Western Diagnostic that I was claiming the blood test rebate through Medicare. I ended up paying the invoice because I needed my good credit score. Now claiming the difference has been a nightmare because Medicare have to reverse the cheque they wrote to Western Diagnostic. I would have liked to contest this with Western Diagnostic because I believe it is their mistake in telling me it would be bulk-billed. They should have footed the bill, not me, because I did not consent to paying for the blood test before my blood was taken.TL;DR: make sure you know whether there may be an out-of-pocket expense for the service, because Western Diagnostic will not inform you, will charge you, will pursue you relentlessly months after the fact, and you will get zero help from Western Diagnostic when sorting it out.

They never bothered providing us with a receipt. Been more than 3 weeks and still waiting for the receipt to claim. Next step, going to raise this issue to Fair Trade.

Very long waiting time. Waited 1 1/2 hour just for blood test. Better put an appointment system in place rather than wasting customer's time.

There are two western diagnostics at Casuarina. This Is inside carepoint medical. The woman today was turning people away from 3.30 she said she was closing at 4pm. She was finished way before 4pm, she was rude to people and rushing.

Absolutely rude lady sitting in the pathology in Perth. Have no knowledge about what she’s doing and what’s happening. She doesn’t want to understand the urgency. She said the reports are not ready and would take 3-4 more days as the Machine is not working but when I called the clinic, all reports were already faxed in the morning! Ridiculous! Don’t visit or rely on them if you need medical reports urgently.

Rude staff, Poor service, long waitings. Do not give proper information. Poor communication.

I think the lady who served me was in a rush. She spoke very fast and expected me to follow her instructions the first time. The way she spoke made me uncomfortable. I have overseas health insurance, and my app showed only the policy number but didn't show my name on the front page. She asked why my name was not there (As if I had made the app) and later described many give someone else's insurance number. I can't understand why I would provide an insurance number that doesn't belong to me when a failed payment will result in not getting my test results. She served me only after I found a page where my name and insurance number were showing, and she asked me to spell my name and DOB to match it. Instead of making me uncomfortable, I expect them to ask politely if they need to verify anything. Overall, not the service I expected.

Unbelievable. Drove around for ages trying to find this place due to no signage. Finally found it and it had closed at 12 midway?????Get your act together your in the health services. Shame full!
