Newington Apartments

Apartments themselves were quite good but the daily servicing was extremely poor.

The room was spacious and clean.There was a lot of loud music coming from the pub across the room till late at night.A tv remote operated both tv’s which was quite frustrating. You turn up the volume on one tv, the volume on the other tv goes up as well. You change the channel on one tv, the channel changes on the other. We ended up using our laptop instead as another device and watched on only one tv.The two skylight windows in the room right above the bed was a drawback as it provided too much light at night and in the morning forcing you to wake up earlier than intended. It’s definitely not a preferred option if you want to sleep in.The beds were soft and saggy. Very uncomfortable!Simple condiments such as salt and pepper was was not provided.Overall, a pleasant experience

Great location. BEWARE of the pub/restaurant next door. I had septic shock from a meal in this location.

Located behind the Bunch of Grapes Hotel, the Newington Apartments are a block of fairly new motor inn style apartments.We stayed for 1 night with 2 kids in a twin queen room.The Good:- nicely fitted out- convenient to the attached hotel, which can deliver meals to your room- wifi is reasonable- warm in bed area of apartment- price is reasonable- decent little kitchen- allocated car space.The not so good- it can be a little noisy being so close to the pub. We didn't find it too bad but it was a quiet Thursday night- the door had a terrible draft, making it very cold to sit on the couch- there are skylights directly above each bed, so if it is a full moon or daytime you will likely struggle to sleep- the bed was very soft/saggy. Not great for comfort- Bin in our apartment wasn't emptied and had some smelly old food in it.

Clean comfortable good sized rooms and priced accordingly well located in relation to the city centre Lake Wendouree and Sovereign Hill would've liked to stay longer and would happily stay again only downer was some rowdy neighbours but can't fault venue

The apartment was nice but each apartment has an allocated car space across from it, next to a pub, and my space was next to about 7 beer kegs and some staff would come out and sit right next to my car on the kegs smoking... you can’t charge X price for the room, market it as a nice place to stay and then have employees of the pub smoking around it.Room was nice, there is no reception and when I arrived I went in the pub next to it seeing how I check in, the bar person said it is a seperate business and I should have a code... I didn’t. Then a lady called me about the rooms and said oh “are you at my work?”... anyway she then after that sent me a code to my phone that let me into the room.I’d stay here again I just wish the car space was seperate to where staff smoke / sit next to / constantly opening the dumpster across from the room and maybe the parking should be fenced off just for hotel guests... other car park for the pub could still get in and out the other road.The kegs should also not be in the guest parking bays. They need to be in a totally different spot.

Modern bathroom and two good-sized tv's. The room wasn't ready on our arrival after 2pm and it was a little noisy being so close to the hotel/pub across the parking lot. There weren't enough dishes nor seats at the little table for the four of us and the lounge chair under the seat was quite disgusting and looked like it had never been cleaned. The beds were comfortable but the doona cover kept coming detached. I've definitely stayed in worse places but overall this wasn't good value for money and next time staying overnight in Ballarat I'm going to try somewhere else.
