Thomas Dixon Centre

Attended a recent Qld Ballet performance here, we were impressed with both the Dixon Centre and new performance space. Intermit auditorium style theater, so no bad seats and great acoustics. The large entry atrium allows plenty of space pre and during intermissions. Bus stop opposite in Montague Road for those traveling from the city. All up, looking forward to attending the next performance here.

This is Brisbane's newest entertainment centre, with theatre and cafes and two bars and a new one soon to open. I did a tour of the complex - highly recommended - you learn so much more about our Brisbane history. Then stayed on for a performance. I had a great afternoon and evening, this is a more quiet venue and great balance to the Powerhouse and QPAC. Go check it out, have a coffee or better still have a drink on the rooftop bar. Well deserves out patronage.

First time here & seeing The Little Mermaid. Inside the building are brick walls the feel pretty stark. There are ballet shoes, tutus and service desks. The kiosk is pretty bland. Street parking is a disaster around here.

Amazing! It's home to Queensland Ballet - a beautiful new build and restored complex. Small intimate performance theatre with amazing views of the stage. I have my favourite row ;) As a local I'm definitely spoilt.

A relaxing place to avoid the crowd from the nearby Montague Market to have a great coffee and enjoy some niche exhibition eg the digital art by Teamlab and related to Queensland Ballet

Lovely, small theatre. Seats are rather narrow and not very comfortable though.

Nev and I did a tour of the Thomas Dixon Centre, now Queensland headquarters. Simply magnificent! We loved how they've combined the old and new architecture. Julia was our guide and she was very enthusiastic showing us all features of this 'wellness' building

Finally made it to the new Thomas Dixon! I’m sipping on a Tiny Dancer (of course) which is a divine blend of pinque rose gin (thanks west winds!) monin watermelon, rose prosecco, topped up with soda. Panoramic views with “the brown snake” obscured by trees, houses and apartment buildings. I’m hanging out for QB Bespoke. I guess a bit more patience is required here. I’m so proud to have such an awesome hometown where we honour the arts, beauty, architecture, design, landscaping and in this case especially ballet. Lin has and is continuing to do such an amazing job. This is a place where we can dream, admire, be swept of our feet with amazement of … all things full of grace, adorable, from the heart and from the soul. XO
