I had booked this venue for a private event 2 months in advance with agreed terms. Everything was good to go, I had finalized payments a month in advance. A week before my event I contacted the cafe to make sure everything was set for my event. It wasn't until then that they informed me of how they could no longer provide the services they had agreed to initially, and wanted to change the terms without any financial compensation/reduced fee. I had to contact them a week before my event to be informed of this, leaving me with very few options and they didn't want to cooperate, they weren't taking me as a customer into account of the changes they wanted to make regardless of having paid for the agreed terms a month earlier. This left me with no choice but to cancel and look for another venue within a week. I wonder what would have happened had I not contacted them a week before my event. Were they expecting me to turn up with my guests just to hear them change everything on that day? I did not appreciate the poor communication the business had with me as their client, changing the terms we had agreed on without informing me until I contacted them.
