The French Baguette Cafe

Very slow service, on a day that didn't look particularly busy.Not really a French baguette place anymore, appears to have been changed at some point to some sort of combination of Western and Vietnamese foods. Nothing we had was much good; there's far better Vietnamese food walking distance in every direction from here.Nothing terrible, but just... not worth the wait.

Visiting was an experiment. We knew it said bakery" but little else. After making it through the smoking cordon (yuk) you are inside the restaurant. More of a restaurant than a bakery really. I found the menu challenging with many unfamiliar items. I ended up with a chicken roll which had some unusual tastes but was ok. Their chips were a familiar relief. The staff were very friendly but there were some communications issues. The prices were ok. Their milk shakes are well presented but small. Wouldn't be my first place to return to."

Been here a few times a while back coffee and cakes we're always nice especially the Vietnamese iced coffee. So was walking past today and noticed it had been renovated and the layout was a bit different and thought l would take my son in for cakes and milkshake. The caramel thickshake he ordered was divine!! He says it was the best he's had. My coffee was great the cakes we're good too. Will be back

A brilliant taste of authentic Vietnamese French fair with good coffee, excellent cakes, and sweets plus tasty Vietnamese rolls.Plenty of spacious seating for social get-togethers and catch ups with friends or business colleagues.Beer on tap at the bar and fully functional kitchen. Air-conditioned and very pleasant decor.Drop in for breakfast or lunch or just an afternoon snack.

Work in the area so it is great when you can spend under $6 on lunch and be satisfied. Mix ham roll comes with onions which I think is quite interesting but you can always ask for without. Just be sure to ask for no chilly if you have a low spice tolerance. My favourite rolls is the bbq roll and the roast pork roll. Have yet to try the cakes or the western food. The bread rolls are heated up depending on what you order which is nice and it is served on a plate if you are eating in, so a bit different to your other banh mi places.

Interesting choice of dishes, including items such as egg coffee and egg hot chocolate! My favourite is the traditional Vietnamese broken rice - excellent portion size.

Food was good, service was polite however they failed the most basic of food service criteria - bring all food out together. Orders were taken, my food came out and at the same time the server told my partner that her order was no longer on the menu - this was 15min after we ordered! He proposed my partner pick something else; so the option was for me to eat while she watched then l sit and watch her eat, or l wait and mine goes cold while l wait for us to eat together. I suggested he take mine away, remake it so we can eat as a party - the look l got was one of disbelief. This is food service 101, the most basic of kitchen understanding! Timings guy, timings!

Terrible food and pastries all around. Ordered a few burgers and pasta, the burgers were practically unchewable, the pasta marinara had no sauce as it claimed just a load of oil and the seafood seemed like it was kept in the fridge for a while, and the pork buns weren't only tasteless, some of the meat was even raw, at least the sausage roll was cooked through, although almost tasteless as well.Even the menu didn't have everything they were actually serving, the specials board outside and the leaflets on the tables had about 75% of what they had, had to go to the counter to see the rest of the items on a small bilboard at the top.The best thing about the cafe was the service which again wasn't so great as the waiters seemed to ignore us for a good while before asking if we were being served.

Good selection of Vietnamese food. Large spacious area. Good to meet up with someone or chill on your own.
