Devon Clothing Uniform Shop

Waited for ages to get service even though an appointment was made. Nothing in stock and everything on backorder. Told blazers are not needed in Term 1 anyway (ordered in early December it's now late January). Not good enough. Surely stock should be plentiful at this time of year as the store would expect it to be busy. Clearly pre-planning for the back to school rush is non-existent. Staff were friendly and helpful but they need more of them during busy periods. Cannot get through on the phone and messages are not returned.

Booked appointment online, at no point did it say x1 parent only for the appointment. So we arrived for our appointment with both parents to make sure the right sizes were ordered, only to be told they had so many appointments that x1 of us would have to leave and they said they had so many appointments this morning.Totally understand covid and restrictions, HOWEVER, ur modbury store had capacity based on sqm to accommodate more ppl and if everything is done via appointment then there's no reason to be overbooked like the staff said they were. Even ppl who had appointments were being told to wait outside until called-whats the point of appointments if u cant meet them anyways.....?Staff were in such a rush to get through our time, they were asking how many of the items we wanted and what size before we'd even tried them on... almost throwing the clothing at us cos it was so fast. Given the small number of items we had to try on for a public high school almost exceeded the 20min appointment and we were super rushed, I feel sorry for private school kids who have multiple uniforms to try in the same time frame... 20mins is just not enough time to try on and make sure the right sizes are being bought... especially considering how expensive they are!Then most things on back order except 3 shorts, but was made to pay upfront for the whole lot. Surely a deposit should be applicable given u couldn't advise when they'd be ready to collect but would most likely be in the new year!! So I'm out of pocket $200+ just before Xmas with no goods... AND no guarantee to have them before the school year.This only comes from poor ordering-u should have enough stock delivered for the end of year shopping so us organised parents make sure our children have the required uniform.Will definitely buy from the school uniform store for our next order.

horrible horrible attitude of staff. no doubt the large lady is racist. the microagressions are severe. WAKE UP LADY! THIS IS A MULTICULTURAL COUNTRY! you don’t like it? LEAVE!!!! Need to reevaluate who you have working in your store because she’s going to be racist to the wrong person someday.STAFF ARE ONLY FRIENDLY IF YOU ARE A WHITE PERSON! FLUENT IN ENGLISH WITH NO ACCENT. IF YOU ARE A POC THEY TREAT YOU LIKE DIRT.

Excellent shop with mainly helpful and friendly shop assistants.The lower rating is due to one shop assistant who was unhelpful, told us incorrect things, was belligerent, didn’t listen, was rude and yelled at us from one end of shop to the other, for no reason.So embarrassing, the opposite of why you go to a shop, where you’re spending hundreds of dollars. We left, feeling very harassed.Everyone else in that shop, is consistently excellent.

Staff very helpful especially when you have a moody teen.Service always great warm and friendly.Love their online booking system.

Disgusting customer service. Especially that fat lady with glasses and long ponytail. Even had a co worker of hers tell her to stop yelling. She’s racist. English clearly isn’t some peoples first language yet she kept screaming. Crazy how the notice says it doesn’t tolerate ‘aggressive’ behaviour but their own worker was aggressive. Disgusting and ugly. Told her that our son couldn’t come in after school to try the uniform on and then she kept repeating “that’s why we get them to come in store to try the uniform on”. Did we not just tell you we couldn’t bring him in?

Have now been waiting six months for my childs school blazer that was ordered in BEFORE school started this year. They used Covid as an excuse. It cost over 200 dollars. This is ridiculous.

I've purchased school shirts, beanies and jumpers from Devon Clothing, Modbury. I've always been happy with the friendly and efficient customer service. All of my orders have been fulfilled promptly. Any sizing issues have been resolved quickly.The school polo shirts have lasted 2 years thus far, with 2-3 washes/week. They are expensive but retain their shape and are durable.
