Had a great steak dinner here and would recommend. Atmosphere was slightly odd but overall had a great time

Fish, Scallops and lobster are very fresh. Excellent customer service on our first visit, but my second experience was not that good, not sure if it was a Friday night and waitresses were very busy or not. We finished our meal and wanted to order a dessert, however no one saw us and everytime I tried to have an eye contact with them, they just rushed to Kitchen. Apart from that the food is some kinda pricy. Daily Special: Whole lobster $100, half lobster $59. BTW you need to call them and make a reservation, otherwise you will not get a seat, walk-in is not acceptable.

Great bistro for dinner and one of the only options in stanley. Got the chicken schnitty which was great, the mushroom sauce was delicious. Also tried the pork sausages which were enjoyable. Not the cheapest for pub food but worth it with not many other options. Gets busy, consider booking. Would recommend.

After a long drive up to beautiful Stanley good food was welcomed. Food was tasty for sure.The mushroom arancini and abalone were good but expensive. The squid as a main was delicious not sure about the side salad. The chicken schnitzel with pepper sauce was really good. Desert we had the sticky date pudding which was awesome and the frangelico crème brûlée both were so good we never took photos!You need to book ahead and because it’s so busy you really struggle to get someone back to your table if you want to order your next round of drinks.We kind of figured you should order everything at once starter, main, drinks and deserts. Service was good and the staff are pleasant but I would think they short staffed slightly.Regardless of that we coming back later in week to try some other things on the menu (not many eating out options in Stanley at night)

Stunning location with ‘The Nut’ just behind it, and one of the best steak dinners I’ve ever had!Unfortunately, the restaurant was booked out so I sat in the pub area on a Friday night - it took a long time to be noticed/served, and there was a lot of raucous, uncomfortable, drunken behaviour.The staff that I did deal with were lovely though - I’d just strongly recommend booking the restaurant ahead of time!

Busy place, and deservedly so.We had trouble getting in because it was so popular.The food was excellent, service very good, staff welcoming.They had a Game pie on the menu, with rabbit, wallaby and venison in it. It was fantastic (and I don't normally eat those meats). Very very hot though. Be warned.Chicken schnitzel was good too.Reasonable selection of Tassie craft spirits behind the bar.Had a lovely night and meal. Do yourself a favour.

We were hungry at 3.30pm and Stanley Hotel Bistro hours show open from 11.30am to 9pm, so we were unhappy that all they were serving was pizza. The place was empty. When the pizza came out we were impressed with the taste however we were just given it on a pizza board and nothing else. No accompanying plates, cutlery or serviettes. The young lady that served us looked like she didn't want to be there. 3 stars are for the pizza only.

The food was good, but for the price that you pay, I would expect the portions to be bigger. The customer service was also good and the staff were all friendly. I would recommend pre-booking a table in advance, as it's likely you won't get a table walking in.

One of the best pub meals I’ve ever had. Steak was amazing and good value compared to places I’ve travelled including Sydney and Melbourne!Staff were friendly and helpful, setting is lovely overlooking the hills and township and the food was top quality.Good drinks range too which topped off a great dinner.
