Understanding Canine Dog Training

Cannot recommend Monika and Understanding Canine Dog Training enough- she is the greyhound whisperer! Our boy Reggie joined in the Greyhound School Level 1 class and learned SO MUCH! Every week there was noticeable improvements so we are so grateful for Monika's commitment to sharing her knowledge and help other hound owners (as these dogs definitely can be divas!).Thanks again Monika, there is nobody I would trust more to teach and give advice on managing Reggie, or any other greyhound we may adopt in the future.

I would highly recommend Monika for dog training. As a first time dog parent to my rescued greyhound I felt quite out of my depth in the first few months. Monika was so helpful in helping me to understand Parkies behaviours and emotions. The training tips she gave me were so helpful and in just a few weeks I have noticed such a change in Parkies behaviour. Definitely worth every cent!

We have been working with Monika for the last 6+ months and the changes we have seen in our young GSP in this time have been incredible. When we first started working with Monika (as first time puppy parents), our dog was highly anxious, frustrated and reactive to people and dogs. With Monika’s support and guidance, we have now built a fantastic relationship with our dog. He is calmer and happier and he now looks to us for guidance when he’s not sure of things. Monika is an excellent trainer who really took the time to built a solid understanding of our dog and our circumstances and used this to guide her approach. She is also constantly developing her skills and learning and using this in her practice. Personally, I have developed so much knowledge through working with Monika and confidence with my skills as a handler. We couldn’t recommend Monika enough.

Monika has been absolutely fantastic with our boy Jax. Jax is an English Staffordshire, and is very energetic. We have done many enrichment/training walks and also video training calls with Monika and we have seen the results through Jax. Monika is always willing to work with our schedule, is very punctual and always gave feedback and tailored training for Jax. Jax absolutely loved it as well!

Our initial session with Monika was excellent! She is clearly so knowledgeable about dogs, as well as about all the science behind behavioural training. She was a great listener and gave us valuable insights and advice regarding our dog’s reactivity, as well as a very detailed and thorough behaviour plan and resources for further learning. We look forward to our next session and can’t recommend Monika enough.

Highly recommend working with Monika. Built my confidence in handling my greyhound.Her trust in me has grown exponentially. Fantastic recall when off lead.Monika tailors her approach. Easy to follow instructions. Materials for follow up. No judgement when we don’t do our homework.We attended four Saturday 8am classes in the middle of winter. The hard work has paid off!!

I can't say enough good things about Understanding Canine and Monika! Our greyhound Starsky is a special boy with lots of needs and Monika has worked miracles with him. Prior to Monika, it was hard to even have people in our house due to Starsky's anxiety and fear. He will now get cozy next to people on the couch! She is so kind, understanding and helpful and provides next level support and compassion. I would recommend her and Understanding Canine Dog training a million times over. Life changing for Starsky and US!

Monika was fantastic! She came to help us out with our new foster greyhound who was having some feelings towards our resident greyhound. She was very thorough in the information she shared, answered all our questions and articulated in the most simple way so that we could relate and adapt.She is so compassionate, calm and caring in her approach towards doggos and humans.We now have a realistic and achievable training plan and can already see it working.Thanks Monika!

Monika had such a positive impact on my partner and I's rescue greyhound, Betsy. We were given so many new strategies to deal with her lead reactivity and it was absolutely invaluable.
