The Book Bucket - Caloundra 'Uptown - Downtown' (aka Book Exchange)

Such a lovely place to find a book. Pre-loved books piles high but in decent order. Ask the team member on the desk if you're after something specific.

Great range and friendly service. Found a couple of books on my ‘to read’ list.

I love books so this was right up my alley! It was very well organised and there was loads of books. I exchanged 2 books and got the book I selected for 10 credits. Unfortunately I'm just on holidays otherwise I'd be here all the time! Very friendly staff too!

Worst experience ever!I arrived with 2 boxes of preloved books to DONATE to the shop. Elderly assistant did not acknowledge or offer a polite thankyou. By the time I had lugged the second box in he had fished out a Learn German cassette which he slid at me across the counter. When I asked why, he replied “Don’t drop your unused junk here!”. I informed him there were some very special books in the boxes and I thought his behaviour very rude and that I would not be back. He then replied “Good!”.In all my 74 years I have never been treated like that in any shop, let alone one to which I was happy to donate to support local business. I am deeply offended.

Great friendly service, lovely atmosphere and great books

Plenty to choose from and a wide variety. The prices are good. The books are a priority in the space available but you get transported into an intimate relationship with the fictional & non-fictional stories in the fully packed shelves. Set an alarm, so that you do not get lost in the curiosity of search! Great chat with the owner. Will be back!

Love this shop. Great for finding holiday reading. Prices are so cheap. Very friendly staff, and if you're lucky to meet Fletcher the dog, give him a big pat for me! Highly recommended.

Treasure trove, with an open mind you could find a dream, an adventure or a answers to lifes questions. Helpful friendly staff. Definitely worth a half hour browse if your looking for something different to do. Great prices and options to return books for credits.

Was stunned at how rude the staff were to a lady who brought in books to sell. From reading responses to less than four-star reviews I can see where the attitude comes from - the sarcasm here on reviews is unbelievable. Get a business coach to help you work out issues you clearly don't understand about how to treat customers. And no I don't want a free pedicure, but I'd like to spend time in a store where everybody is treated with courtesy, thank you. This lady with the books was clearly a repeat exchanger and yet the man who served her was just belligerent, saying she wasn't in the system when it was his fault for not being able to find her in the systgem, chiding her for not staying to look around, You had time to drop the books off though

love trading books there when I am visiting Australia as they have an excellent selection...I like to read Australian authors when I am here. Enjoy Di Morrisey.
