Located in the scenic neighborhood of Neutral Bay, New South Wales, Thelma and Louise Restaurant strives to offer a memorable dining experience inspired by the beloved film. However, during my recent visit, I was left with mixed feelings as delicious food and pleasant music were overshadowed by unwelcoming staff and an uncomfortable atmosphere.Upon entering, I did not receive the warm smiles and welcoming atmosphere one would expect. The staff's reluctance to engage and their hesitance to smile detracted from the overall dining experience. The music selection, on the other hand, was enjoyable and well-curated, which provided a pleasing auditory backdrop to the meal.Unfortunately, the atmosphere took another hit when what appeared to be the owner or manager began to loudly address staff members using profanities. This lack of discretion and professionalism was off-putting and made it difficult for patrons to enjoy their dining experience. Such matters should undoubtedly be handled privately to maintain a comfortable ambiance for guests.Despite these setbacks, the food served at Thelma and Louise was a redeeming factor. The dishes were fresh, flavorful, and showcased the best of Australian cuisine. Locally-sourced produce and ingredients elevated the flavors and demonstrated the chefs' commitment to quality. In conclusion, my experience at Thelma and Louise Restaurant in Neutral Bay was marred by unwelcoming staff and an uneasy atmosphere. While the food and music selection were commendable, the overall experience could be significantly improved by addressing service and ambiance issues. With the right adjustments, this dining destination has the potential to become an unforgettable experience that truly captures the spirit of its iconic namesake.

A nice little waterfront cafe. The food is pretty average but the vibes and view are fantastic.

Enjoyed the wonderful , experience of this legendary cafe on a Sunday , long weekend , morning for breakfast. I had Salmon on Toast with poached eggs ( which unfortunately had Dill herbs sprinkled on top which overpowered the delicate flavours of salmon, egg and small leaf salad) otherwise it was yummy and a very large serving . The extra thick toast was impressive. This little cafe was packed and buzzing with a good vibe. The staff were fabulous , friendly and efficient. Suprisingly the food was served quickly. (One humorous highlight were two Seagulls which quickly swooped down on an outside table that was vacated . They each grabbed a sugar satchel and flew off in glee !)

Really wanted to like this cute cafe but have to say only the view was worth it. 10% weekend charge and 2% credit card charge on top of all the already expensive yet small portion menu was already shocking, but coffee made with oat milk and almond milk were just very disappointing. The food itself didn’t taste bad and the staff were friendly, though.

This place has a very nice community cafe vibe with extremely fast service and very nice staff. There is this very nice trendy/hippie atmosphere overlooking the water while having a very nice mix of general cafe breakfast food with authentic middle eastern options. Will most definitely come again. The compote in the granola bowl is to die for and the coffee is great.Would recommend the eggs and salmon and the pastry selection

We did a quick ferry trip over to Neutral Bay fir breakfast. It was perfect timing, as we were able to have a nice breakfast and then catch the next ferry back to circular quay.

Great location, but terrible food. The pastries are always stale. They don't seem to dispose of any leftovers at the end of the day and drag them out again and again until they are all sold. I bought a friand last that was sooo stale it was like a rock. Awful. The week before that I bought a custard danish which was so old the custard had curdled and was sour. I had to put it in the bin. Everything I have ever bought there has been sour or off. The staff rarely smile and make you feel uncomfortable for being there. The place also does not look clean or hygienic. I will not be buying food from there again. A shame, because it could be such a lovely place.
