EDIT March 20, 2023Coles Merrylands has updated their self-serve checkouts.The Good:The new self-checkout area is, if anything, even more spacious, allowing for more physical distancing than many other stores (Coles Westmead, you know what I mean), and exits at either end reduce the risk of becoming trapped in a crowd.The bad:- Instead of hooks, the new checkout machines have some sort of clasp to hold your shopping bag. To secure a bag, that clasp must be manually lifted, making it one of the most touched surfaces in the the store, and destroying a key advantage of these machines, the contact - free checkout.- Shiny new machines are nice, but sadly Coles Merrylands still can't be bothered to hire enough staff to open the self-serve checkouts when the store opens. At best, you can hope you scan your groceries without human assistance after 75 minutes, but don't rely on it, it can just as easily be a full 2 hours.Large store with plenty of space to keep a relatively safe distance from other shoppers, at least during not so busy times. Self-scan checkout area is also comparatively spacious, providing at least a theoretical chance to complete your shopping without catching all kinds of nasty viruses.HOWEVER; as a result of (presumably) deliberate, consistent under-staffing and a very obvious blatant disregard for customer needs, that otherwise very convenient self-scan checkout area remains closed well into the morning on most days. Many of us complete their shopping as early in the morning as possible, when shops are not busy, to avoid close personal contacts as best we can, and the self-scan checkouts are an integral part of that strategy.The self-scan checkouts must be opened when the store opens, anything else is simply not good enough.

It's a nice big coles, it's a 50/50 chance you'll get a trolley. The long self-service lanes are interesting, I like them, but also worry, who's losing their job because of it.

Today I went and shopped in coles like usual but this time I forgot to take my shopping bags so asked the register operator for the bags. She packed my stuff n left it beside her.I got home with one bag short in which I had all the frozen items. I tried calling the store literally 10 times without any one answering the call but at the beginning of the call it says “ your call is important to us”. ( my foot) and I also called customer care who then transferred my call to the store but still was unsuccessful.I’d like to address this issue with the management that at least the phone calls to be answered. I have worked in retail and no matter how busy we would be but still managed to answer the call.It’s very frustrating and disappointing from a customers perspective.

Has gone through a refurbishment. Love the self-service options. Still getting used to all the movement of the groceries. The meat is now in fridge.Not sure of the self service Orange juice machine.

Your staff are parking in the click and collect bays. How do I know it's Coles staff??? The guy getting out of the car turns around and puts on a Coles Customer Support vest once he got out of his car.

Coles Merrylands is a great supermarket that provides a fantastic shopping experience. The store is well organized and tidy, making it easy to find what you're looking for. The shelves are always well-stocked, and the prices are quite reasonable compared to other supermarkets in the area. The store has a great selection of fresh produce, meats, and baked goods, which are of good quality and reasonably priced. The checkout process is also very efficient, and the lines move quickly. Overall, Coles Merrylands is an excellent supermarket that provides a great shopping experience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for quality groceries and excellent service.

Don’t buy chicken from coles unless you want to get food poisoning. This is the 3rd time first we got it smelt very bad we took it back second time and now third time the chicken is spoiled. It’s not the cooked chicken is the uncooked chicken that are all off

Good experience when looking for options and cost factor. Have noticed some items in other key city areas are bit higher in price where at this coles I could get it for a bargain. Usually I make a late evening visit and you get plenty of parking when the mall shops are closed.good pricing options and buying options for both fruits and vegetables.

I only ever shop at Woolworths or Coles if I have to. I prefer to support businesses that don't screw our farmers and aren't pushing for 100% digital self service. Zero stars if I could.

A big store, still finding my way around. They really need to keep on top of trolley availability. Great grocery selections for the various ethnic groups that live in the area or for a 5th generation Aussie who enjoys food from all over the world.
