Akwaaba’s performances are always fun, entertaining and leave you with a buzz of excitement after experiencing their fantastic energy! Sally and Paul are two of the kindest and most genuine people we have met and this really shines through in how they operate their business. They are warm and inclusive, and supportive of the local community by bringing people together through drumming performances. These sessions encourage multicultural awareness and allow the community to discover joy through diversity. We also recommend a visit to Akwaaba’s store at the Wanneroo markets – I always end up with something unique from Africa that I truly love.

The range of drums in this shop is amazing! From tiny ones for the kids to massive ones for the grown ups! The staff there are really helpful and friendly. One of the best shop to walk through and have fun at The Wanneroo Markets!

I have been drumming with Paul Osei for more than ten years now ... it's amazing!!! I enjoy it so much, and I've even started a little club at lunchtimes and after school at the school I work at. The children love it too, and they are so proud when they 'get' a rhythm. Paul is a wonderful, patient teacher and brings so much joy to everything he does, and contributes so much to the wider community too.

Loved, loved this beautiful store and online shop. It's been 40years since leaving beautiful Zimbabwe and to walk through this store bought back so many beautiful memories. From musical experiences with the authentic African musical items, to the skillfully carved soap stone animals and sculptures to textile items. Had a great time and bought lots of Christmas presents.

Akwaaba is fantastic. We have had Akwaaba support our paddling group around a fire of a night and also playing with the admin staff of WASO on the stage at the Concert Hall. Both experiences, for the participants was one of joy, being part of something bigger, and fun. I am sure it will remain a happy memory for years. Working with Akwaaba from behind the scenes is also a delight. They are prompt, efficient and fair in all the dealings. I would not hesitate to recommend Akwaaba to any size group or any situation.

Went here today to just have a look. The owner, Sally, is very lovely. They have handmade bags, wood and stone decors, clothing/cloth and drums that her husband made himself. Pricing is probably the best in Perth. They also do African drumming tutorials! I would encourage everyone to visit this place as you will find so much treasure in this shop.
