Stayed for new years night for an overnighter and ended up staying four nights. We really like this place as it's right near the lake and was great for a refresh. We couldn't get the kids out. They loved it. Like the saying goes. Happy wife (and kids) happy life. Main camp ground near boat ramp has drop toilets and bins but all the others don't have either which they should put bins at least. Generally people are good and take rubbish with them but unfortunately there are some that don't but in saying that the grounds where clean. Well done everyone. Short drive into stawell for supplies(refreshments). I would recommend this place for sure.

Awesome spot to camp or picnic. Can't swim in the water and no fish it seems, but this is still a very relaxing place. Other campers were considerate, and we had a great couple of days.There are toilets close to the boat ramp and a skip for waste. You can pick-up firewood in the park for use while you stay. Beautiful bird life all around.

Wonderful free spot on the gateway to the grampians thr lake has water in it as of writing this (13/11/19) great spot to branch out and explore.

We love Lake Lonsdale. We have been coming for over 15 years. Bush camping (free) on multiple locations along the lake shore. A drop toilet is available near the boat ramp at one of the sites. Bring everything else you need. Beautiful views of the Grampians across the Lake.

Great free camp. Toilets were clean. Skip for rubbish. Good road in. Lots of trees so I'd be wary in high wind.

Our favourite spot with a great view of Halls Gap over the lake. Plenty of sites along Sandbar road with fire pits and sandy spots to set up camp. Only one spot with drop toilets.

Lovely place to camp (November). You do tend to get the expected drive through traffic looking at the well placed vista.

The Lake is looking magnificent at the moment, being almost full of water. Plenty of camping spots to choose from, and only a short drive out of Stawell. A couple of brown snakes have been seen around flat rock this week, be aware!
