Honestly, most of our guests told me and my stepmum that my father's natural earth burial was absolutely the most beautiful funeral they had ever attended. Yasemin and her Rite of Passage Funerals team were instrumental in helping us create this, and we recommend them in a heartbeat. Firstly, I loved Yasemin's calm, straightforward attitude and communications. She was heartfelt and professional the whole way through without ever making us feel pitied. I felt really comfortable working on ideas with her, and being guided by her knowledge. I told Yasemin what we were after, and she managed all the logistics, from the legal paperwork to the hearse, and care and preparation of Dad's body from the day he died until when we buried him, plus the PA system, chairs, marquee and the gravesite itself. She created a day that was wholly what I had imagined it could be. The service at Alberton Cemetery was warm and intimate, and the bushland setting will be remembered by all of us. He was wrapped so beautifully in calico—as per natural earth burial guidelines—it would have made him proud. Dad would have loved Yasemin, and I wished they'd got to meet in person. Guests mentioned to me that they thought Yasemin was just perfect, and I also appreciated the professionalism of her hearse drivers and the mortician, who came to the service. Yasemin managed my mum and my step-dad’s memorial services earlier this year. Yasemin was so great to deal with, she helped us through a stressful time (twice) and both memorials were beautiful, well organised and very personalised to each person. Yasemin is a very open, approachable person and having her to help us I think allowed us more flexibility than the funeral homes as Yasemin will tailor the service to your needs. I cannot speak highly enough of our experience with Rite of Passage Funerals. We wanted a special and unique ceremony to farewell my son; one which reflected his interests and passions during his short lifetime, and one in which his family and friends could fully participate. We had such a wonderful experience using Rite of Passage Funerals. Our mum passed away and it was heartbreaking. Yasemin handled the necessary funeral arrangements, gently, kindly, compassionately and yet efficiently. I really felt that Yasemin listened to what we wanted. Our father passed away suddenly - we didn't want the mainstream undertakers or funeral service and we were guided to Yasemin at Rite of Passage Funerals. It was of great comfort that once we contacted Yasemin she managed all the 'heavy lifting'. Secured our preferred venue, organised the catering, set up a streaming service, wrote the intro and the end bit and let us design what Dads memorial would look like in between. There was no stress and all we had to concentrate on was our farewell speech. Yasemin was easy to work with, presented all her ideas and thoughts and help guide us through the process.
