My husband and I have bought hats at this shop twice.The product is impressive to us and the staff members is very good service.

What a wonderful little business to visit. Old fashioned service with a smile and a great range and prices. My daughter and husband both walked out happy, with new hats. Thank you for your patience and help.

I always wanted to visit this shop whenever I passby flinders. Finally got a chance to shop for Christmas. Wonderful collection of hats. The staff were very friendly and suggested several options for me. So many range to choose from. Pricing is slightly more than the commercial brands but the quality is much superior than what I have seen. Definitely a nice place to visit and shop. We also got additional discount for Christmas.

Absolutely charming shop tucked away besides Flinders St Station. The staff were great, especially the man working the till, his style snd the general air about him was so *hattish*. Bought two fiddler's hats and they are wonderful.

Staff were so welcoming and never pushed my decisions. The range is very classy. I left with a new favourite thing.

I have had 5 hats from city hat over the years and love them to the end. Now it time to get another one guess where l am going to get my new hat from. And l come down from Echuca to get it.

Great little store and Melbourne institution but personally I did not have a pleasant and welcoming experience.The biggest issue I had here was the service. The ladies that worked here were generally fine, the men however were icy and unfriendly. One of them (with a fancy moustache) treated us with “please handle the hats by holding on the side and not the top part” to which I told him we were already told that… then he walked away “otherwise we can’t sell the hats”. Did not appreciate being treated like that. Will make my hat purchases online instead.

Brought my first hat from here in 1988 and recently returned in 2023 nothing much has changed apart from sales peopleThis place is a Melbourne treasure and should be heritage listed

A great hat shop next to Flinders station, Melbourne.Obviously if in Australia you have to get an Akubra hat (think crocodile Dundee). They didn't have the actual one as it's a special order but plenty of choice.Wife also bought two hats. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Lots of hats and accessories. Must visit for a proper Aussie hat.

City Hatters is a little hat shop nestled in the corner of Melbourne's iconic Flinders Street Station. While the shop has an inconspicuous façade, what lays inside is bound to surprise you.The shop is delightful. It may not have a large interior, but there is certainly a large inventory and selection of hats to choose from (my quick photographs don’t do it justice). The staff are accommodating and friendly, and there are multiple mirrors inside to check yourself out with a hat you are trying on. Not to mention, their website is easy to navigate and view all sorts of hats assorted into categories if you prefer shopping online.Rosa helped me choose three brilliant flat caps, making sure that they fit me well, recommending me on the colour and texture. These are my first flat caps—proper hats in fact—and I am in love with them. Now I don't leave the house without wearing one and it is perfect for the winter weather! Thank you very much, Rosa.All in all, my experience was wonderful, and I highly recommend this shop.I look forward to my next visit to Melbourne's greatest hat shop!
