Beautiful and delicious sweets. The tarts and cakes had lovely flavours and complementing textures, so much better than those sold at large franchised patisseries. They made a great dessert platter. Faves were the frangipani tart, passion fruit tart and Black Forest. Staff were lovely and helpful with recommendations.

Beautiful cafe on Maling Road.Service was prompt an efficient.The eggs Benedict was first class with eggs perfectly cooked.The scrambled eggs a really decent serve really professionally cooked and presented.Coffee. Excellent.Highly recommended.

The pear tart hits the spot! Exceptional French pâte sablée, warm and friendly service, good coffee and comforting lentil soup to kick off a lovely morning on Maling Road.Cafe Gâteaux combines a slick repertoire of French pâttiserie with the comfort of daily homely offerings such as beef stew or lentil soup.Their smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel is uncharacteristically basic and straightforward. We would have liked ours slightly fancier.

I went in with my 11month old and asked if we could please use the bathroom. I was told by the lady behind the counter with a fake smile on her face that it was for customers only.She didn’t even say “sorry it’s for customers only, but there are some public toilets round the corner”I could understand this policy if I looked like a mess or did not have my baby with me. But surely the customer only policy shouldn’t apply if there’s an infant involved. My family were actually down the street in the antique store so we would have been customers if we had been allowed in. Instead we went to chapter three. Much nicer and friendly.

It is a small cafe on Maling Rd, with a section for sweet and for savoury offerings, ..I think the salmon bagel is one of the best, and the small lemon tarts are not to be passed by.There are comfortable tables and chairs.The staff are all very welcoming
