Mr Emergency Air Conditioning Adelaide

My aircon was showing Error 07 which I looked up and found out, the problem was with the outdoor unit fan motor. I contacted Mr Emergency via their website, they rang from No caller Id and denied to give me quote via phone and charged callout fee of $142 for someone to attend instead. Next day, a guy rocked up but in blue Metropolitan aircon van.He was there for few minutes. When he knew that I had recently purchased the house, he told me that it wasn’t looking good at all. The house and system is only 6 years old. He told me that both the fan motors are broken and PCB board needs to be changed and will cost 9 grand to do it. I was shocked. He said that he cannot take any guarantee whether it will work or not. He expected me to spend $9000 and he said he cannot guarantee anything.He then tried to convince me to install 12.5kw system and quoted $19000 for it. I felt I was being scammed.I did my research and realized that the new system costs under 7 grand. He further tried to push me to get it installed then and there or else he is all booked up for next few weeks.There, I was certain that he was trying to rip me off, so, I googled and was able to find a local technician. In short, this second technician told me that only one fan motor was not working and there was no other issue. He charged me 360 for motor and 330 for his fees including callout fee/diagnosis and repair. I paid 690 in total and my AC is works great. I didn’t have to pay 9 or 19 grand. So, better stay away from these scammers and find someone local. I wish there was a consumer court where I could lodge a formal complaint for asking 13 times more money than what others are charging.I want my callout fee back.

Called this company (they work together with metropolitan air conditioning adelaide) on a Saturday for an assessment, charged $141 to book the visit, they gave us a 3 hour window, so we waited at home on a 40 degree day with a broken AC.3 hours came and no word from them. After a few follow up calls, they arrived more than 8 hours later with an exorbitant quote of $21500 for a replacement of 12.5kw ducted reverse cycle. $2000 alone is for a scissor lift hire which we found out later was only around $300. We gave in because it was very hot and did not know then how much it would cost. We then asked for a quote from Mannix of $8500 for the whole replacement if the same unit. What a rip off. Please, if you are smart, don’t be like us and don’t be fooled by this company. They are very nice to you, but they will rip you off to the last dollar.

The team was reliable and efficient. They addressed the issue promptly and provided solutions to prevent future problems. I'm grateful for their expertise.
