A very worthwhile experience for rail enthusiasts and tourists.A significant collection of Tasmanian railway locomotives, passenger coaches and freight rolling stock plus track maintenance vehicles.The knowledge, experience and enthusiasm of the DVR people we met was impressive, with their commitment to preparing to run an operational railway when they have track access again in the future.

A must for rail and train fans while visiting Hobart and surrounds. I love the work these volunteers are doing not just supporting rail heritage but for the wider community and tourism.

Very impressive, really happy we stopped by.The lovely lady escorted us through with so much information about what was and the dream of what will be.The volunteer workers seem to be ex rail employees and rail buffs that really are passionate and knowledgeable about their railway.Will go back definitely.Thankyou

Great tour of the railway! Sorry it isn’t up and running though and it’s too costly for it to start up! Real shame as there is such potential for this to be operative! Love those old trains!!!

While they are trying to get back on the mainline they conducted me on a personal tour of the workshops. Had a great time, lots to see. Hope to see you at National Park station in the not too distant future. Thanks Owen.
