Darwin River Tavern
The staff were really helpful and friendly, excellent service! However, the food is very average and expensive for what you get. I had the garlic prawns for $30. There were exactly 7 medium sized prawns, not enough creamy garlic sauce and the rice was very gluggy and looked like it had been precooked and kept in the fridge in a small round takeaway container as that's exactly the shape the rice was. It was not my idea of garlic prawns. I would say to the owners: improve the food so I can go back there (I live in Darwin).

Lovely scenery, great service. Slushies were yum. Really average food. We went here for dinner some months ago and food was excellent. Tonight I got the calamari - Chips were old and not hot, calamari was oily and soggy, salad looked 2 days old. Hubby got mac and cheese and onions rings, onion rings were good, Mac and cheese flavourless and room temp, and for the last few hours he's had indigestion. My suggestion to owners is i'd get a a decent chef before the dry season so we can come back and others can enjoy your local pub. Thanks hope the feedback helps.

Had the Pork belly burnt ends and they were absolutely amazing. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Can't wait to get back there.

Get the rump and get creamy garlic sauce. Other cuts of meat are not as good. But anything from the Smokey J's list is awesome!!! Big thanks to Lisa and Justin, you are fantastic. Friendly service, attentive, so incredibly helpful!

We recently enjoyed a great lunch, can't fault the food; steak sandwich and pizza. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the atmosphere of eating lunch in an outdoor booth overlooking the pool. Appreciated we could have our dogs join us as well. We will be back.

I don't want to give a bad rating because it's a great pub and the staff are so friendly and terrific. But I was a tad disappointed with smoky J's lastnight, I've had it before and it was great but lastnight it was very dry and not very good at all. Luckily the beer was cold!
