Megas Music Store

One of the single worst customer experiences I've had in my life.What should have been a pleasant and encouraging start into my musical journey and begun promising - has soon turned into an ordeal and exercise in frustration, with several visits to the store to handle an issue, each more fruitless than the previous - ending with what approximated an argument with a brick wall.The owner acted arrogant and condescending - interrupted me whenever I was trying to voice concerns over the violin I purchased - got personally offended for questioning its quality - and kept referring me to a music teacher he knew & recommended, rather than attempting to answer my queries there and then.After I met and spoke to the teacher in-store, I opted to buy a more expensive violin that would last me longer. He seemed offended that I didn't listen to their advice to keep the instrument I bought - which he remarked on in later conversation, saying they have wasted their time on me" and that I otherwise would have to pay for that time (violin lessons).I wrote an e-mail concerning the price of the new violin - which I was told has gone up in price twenty dollars from the catalogue price (up to $80 over what other stores sell it for with free shipping) - in which I wrote I was willing to negotiate a better price

Worst online experience everOriginally purchased item was told not as advertised so was refunded but item still appeared for sale on Megas page plus instruments online page and reverb ? All the same item) even though I was told it was not a boom arm stand, one would wonder why all 3 ads were still listed showing item as available as a boom stand?Gave it some thought and decided that a straight stand would actually suffice so bought it. A week later after hearing not a word about my order I enquired as to what was going on and then received a refund with no explanation at all and as of posting this Mapex black boom stand still advertised as available in s 3 sites !!!Just really bad service all round

Peter and his team have a large array of musical needs and run great classes. Locally owned small business kicking goals and they also support many local not for profit organisations and causes. The service is friendly.

Walked in prepared to spend up big, but I could tell they really couldn't be bothered being there. Everything was to hard when I asked, and were very unhelpful. I won't be back.

Absolutely devastated!I've always spent a reasonable amount of money in this store and always sent further music lovers there without hesitation, I won't be anymore. Yesterday I went in expecting to pick up a beautiful tamberin I've been waiting over a YEAR for it to finally arrive due to all covid restrictions. Throughout the year of waiting I've occasionally popped it to see if it's arrived, I rang the store about 3 weeks ago in which the man told me it's finally in and that the next time I pop in I can grab it. Yesterday I went into the store to be told that I've already come in, he said that the tamberin wasn't in and that I decided to swap it for something matching the price, that's a lie! Any of the times I went in the tamberin wasn't there so I genuinely left empty handed. It cost $60, the money isn't even what I'm upset about, it's the fact he lied straight to my face even tho i've been patiently waiting for over a year and never complained. Absolutely devastated !

Good as always...did.nt grab much .a guitar strap and lead but no nonsense..good advice and great service...a really good buying experience

Not a great deal of known brands, not much stock and the stuff they have is pretty basic. The staff were friendly though.

Great shop. Staff are very helpful and have a lot of knowledge over a broad variety of musical instruments. Always happy and delightful to deal with. I go there for all my drum kit supply's and I highly recommend Megas Music. .

I went in to look for a particular instrument I wished to learn and knew very little about. The person serving me just pointed at the three they had without going in to any detail. He didn't ask my skill level, didn't offer any advice about which would be more suitable, didn't bother finding out about what sort of music I'd like to try to play in order to work out my needs for now and in to the future. The level of apathy towards me as a customer meant that I took my business elsewhere and I'm really glad I did. I left with huge doubts regarding any after sales support, even though we didn't go in to that, just based on the lack of enthusiasm to even sell me an instrument.I did end up making my purchase but it was at another store where they were more than happy to guide me through choices that would mean that I had the right instrument for me.

Went in to shop and spend a bit of money? Limited range was a bit of a put off.The owner seemed a bit arrogant so i didn't pursue my purchase any further.Will never be returning there.Ended up spending over $1000 at All Music on Dean St in Albury, which had what I wanted and knew what customer service was.
