The difference between this store and the stores in Rutherford and Glendale is astounding. Every time we have been into the Thornton store to buy fish, I haven't been able to bring myself to purchase anything as there are always dead fish in their tanks. Not a good sign really, and definitely not a good look.The staff are not the friendliest or most helpful and would much prefer to chat amongst themselves.Every time we go in things have been moved around which makes it difficult to find accessories or products I've been looking for so I just don't bother.I won't waste my time stopping there again.

I just encountered extremely poor customer service from a young lady at the front desk. I required assistance in selecting dog kibble, in which she presented extremely uninterested to help and instead of offering assistance in finding another brand of food, due to my regular kibble being out of stock, she responded “sorry the last is on hold” and proceeded to ignore me. During this she was slouched over with her hand over her face whilst talking to me, making what she was saying completely inaudible. I was extremely taken aback by this.On a bright note, Shanelle stepped in and offered great assistance!

Phenomenal store. Fantastic and charismatic store manager, Paul. Fish are always healthy and well looked after. Never had a problem here and always felt at home. Staff are all very knowledgeable - a regular for the last couple years

Love coming here with my dog, who they always remember that she doesn't like strangers touching her. They have a wide range of dry dog food brands, & they also have good hypo-allergenic biscuits & good brand medications & washes to keep your pooch clean & healthy, can also spend ages here looking at all the toys & coats. At the back of the shop, they have a bathing & drying section, which seems to be very popular

Kate has cost this company a lot of customers, yesterday I went in to get my usual supplies of fish and rabbit stuff. Only to walk past Kate and get a dirty look followed by “you’re not allowed to be in here”. At no point has anyone informed me I’m not allowed to shop there. She then proceeded to run up to the counter and make a scene including things that she made up about me saying about her at the Rutherford store. I was then refused service and when I asked why their response were simply that because Kate is there they can’t serve me because she is uncomfortable. I’ll make sure that everyone far and wide knows this is the standard of service to expect from your stores.

I came in to buy a new addition to my fish tank. I went straight to the tanks and looked at a few options. There was another couple already there also looking but not being served and there was 3 team members standing around having a chat and ignoring customers. I made eye contact with them and they just walked away so I left without buying anything

Don’t go to this store! There are so many dead or sick Fish it was disgusting! Don’t even care about removing the dead ones. they clearly have no care for the animals absolute disgrace of a pet store!. Take your money else where I no I will be.

Asked about price matching, was rude with her answer. Had a 20kg bag of dog food, didn't offer help to get it in the car. Think I'll stick to my local pet shops at Rutherford. Better all round

Have dealt with before and always advised welcome to help out with relocation of fish. Went in today to be told go away Michael not here we won’t help. Maybe just staff not trained but what a way to turn away customer who also had to buy. Was always told welcome any time. Well not now apparently. Needless to say went and bought what I also needed at another shop more friendly. Pity as was becoming comfy store but they ruined that
