Snowtown Water Tower (Silo) Art
It's great to see volunteers being recognised on this mural. Painted by Joel Van Moore, better known as 'Vans the Omega', it depicts volunteers like John Hansen (CFS) and Jenny Cox (ambulance) covering the complete surface of the water tower. It also features local sports star Simon McCormack. It took over 120 Lt of paint and around 300 spray cans to cover the structure.While the town has suffered from a sordid past, this shines new light on this little town. It is a shame that there isn't any signs giving information on its artist or subject. There are no signs in the town directing people to the tower either.

What a wonderful idea. Heard about it on the radio in Victoria and was traveling past. Very colourful and makes a usually bland water tower into a piece of art. Well done to Snowtown and the artist.
