Lake Thetis Stromatolites

Came to see the Stromilites and it was great . Also came across a baby king brown snake. We both did not want to meet I went one way and it went the other luckily mum wasn't around either.But the Stromilites are what I wanted to see and I got to see them Fantastic.

The lake is just outside of Cervantes. There are signs that lead here from the main road. The carpark is decently sized but doesn't seem to have any toilets which were a bit annoying.It was raining so we didn't get to do the full circuit of the lake. The boardwalk looked quite new and it was quite a comfortable walk. The walk to the stromatolites isn't too far from the carpark entrance. You can see the wharf as you get on the boardwalk.It was something unique and interesting to see. Little blobs of rock-looking things just sitting in the water.I thought it was a worthwhile little stopover. If you had time, the walk around the lake looked quite nice.

A great time to visit is dusk. Beautiful reflection on the lake.

Interesting place to visit. Water level was too high to take pictures of the stromatolites but some nice wildflowers in the area

Great place to stop by on your way out. The information is quite interesting. It’s a pity to see so many footmarks on places other than the walking path. Tell Other tourist to do the right thing. These bacteria we outlive us all if you don’t step on them!

Interesting site and knowledge. Pleasant short walk all the way around the lake too - some birds to spot and a couple of picnic tables. In better condition than Hamelin Pool, though perhaps not as picturesque.

Gorgeous but stromatolites were underwater when we visited, make sure you don't plan to go after a wet period

It's pretty cool to be walking close to the oldest living organisim on earth. This place is peaceful and picturesque. Nice easy boardwalk. Well worth a visit when checking out the Pinnacles up the road.

Nice quiet spot to look at the ancient Stromatolites. Not too far from Cervantes and on the way to Holdfast Bay. Very windy but worth a visit
