Hartley House is a warm, friendly, vibrant place to stay with multiple families or small groups. It has a large variety of activities to keep everyone entertained or chilled no matter what you want. Can thoroughly recommend for anyone wanting to get away a couple of hours out of Sydney.

We have just returned home from a break at the beautiful Hartley House. From the moment we entered this breathtaking property, we were transported away to the French countryside!The grounds are immaculately cared for, the main house is beautifully presented with thoughtful furnishings and is perfect for a big extended friends and family group.The kitchen is well equipped and my personal fave was the Elan Deluxe (AGA-esque) cooker. There is also excellent Wi-Fi , modern smart TVs and excellent sound systems in the living areasNearly each bedroom and space has wonderful country views and there is something for everyone and for every weather at this property.The large modern barn is perfect for a sumptuous dinner or movie night with its roaring fire, palatial dining table and comfy bean bags.The bunkhouse has a table tennis and a pool table to amuse the little (and big) kids.The outdoor pavilion around the pizza oven and rustic fireplace is perfect for outdoor entertaining and pizza partiesA short walk through the property across the paddocks with alpaca and sheep takes you to the most breathtaking lookout to spend watching the sunset over the valley with a chilled glass of rose. Absolutely spectacular vistasThere are hens and a duck ensuring you have the freshest of eggs each morning for brekkie and very well looked after veggie patches and herb gardens to pick produce in seasonThe fact that Hartley House is only a couple of hours from Sydney and Its proximity to some of the best lookouts, The Jenolan Caves and Heritage listed towns in NSW is a huge draw tooI will most certainly be back and would highly recommend it for extended family groups or to anyone wanting a private relaxing break away from the day-to-day grind

Anyone considering this property should pay attention to the strict cancellation policy.The property, the grounds and the facilities were 5 stars, and we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend. However, this was overshadowed by the awful experience with the host leading up to the stay. I booked the property for a special occasion in July however the Blue Mountains area went into lockdown, and the booking could not be fulfilled. The hosts were very opportunistic with their cancellation policy which was to retain 50% of my $5415 payment or else I needed to rebook an enormous seven bedroom house within five days.I pleaded with the hosts explaining that;a) We are a Defence family and would be relocating to the Northern Territory in January for a new postingb) We had no idea when restrictions would lift, and coordinating ten people from all over Australia would be problematic, andc) We offered that they retain 20% of our payment and refund 70%.They were very inflexible despite reading in the guest manual that the owner was uber-wealthy, having created a 200 million dollar business.I plucked a date and made it work with different guests; however, booking this property caused me a great deal of stress and sadness.

Hartley House was the perfect weekend away from Sydney. The house was so relaxing, and the view of the sunset from the balcony is absolutely gorgeous. Emily (the host) gave us great suggestions on where to hike in the surrounding areas. But the best thing about Hartley was how flexible the space is, we had just 4 people stay on the Friday night and found it intimate and cosy, whilst on the Saturday night a few families joined with their kids and there was more than enough space for all! Would highly recommend Hartley for anyone looking for a relaxing or adventurous weekend away!

Hartley House is a perfect location for any type of group gathering. It is not overly large but intimate and informal and perfect for a romantic wedding, a family celebration, a corporate meeting venue, a health, wellness or leisure venue.I booked Hartley for our recent company offsite and found that the venue offered us a great many activity options. We had meetings boardroom style, we did some team activities and challenges in the grounds, fireside drinks and bbq to name but a few. The bedroom accommodation is also delightful and overall, I would have no hesitation in booking Hartley again.

Having stayed at Hartley House on many occasions, I cannot recommend it highly enough. From a morning walk in the forest to drinks by the fire pit in the afternoon, to a beautiful evening meal in the warmth of Hartley House, it does not get any better.There is so much for the kids as well, and it is great to see them being kids, away from technology, running, playing with the chickens or making use of the amazing games room for pool and table tennis tournaments.Hartley House has a way of relaxing you, that keeps you coming back. It is literally like no other place.

We recently conducted our weekend retreat at Hartley House and it was amazing! The newly renovated Barn was fantastic and perfect to host our workshops and group activities. The grounds and house are stunning with picturesque views and places to explore. Love the wood fire pizza oven and fire pit! Highly recommended :)

Hartley house is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Their newly constructed barn has great facilities for a corporate off-site event with large screen TV/video conferencing capabilities and plenty of room for an indoor team session away from the office. The expansive outdoor area is perfect for team building exercises and I just loved the wood fire pizza oven next to the huge fire pit. Thoroughly recommend Hartley house for your next corporate getaway or just a weekend away with a few families, kids loved it too.
