Nice area tocamp by the river. As of 02/01/22 there is current a tree fallen over a path, but you can drive around the other side. River water level is high. Flush toilet is clean and stocked with soap and toilet paper.Horseshoe bend area is more exposed sunlight in the morning and afternoon than ackle campground. On days that gets to 35-37 degrees, take care when selecting campsites.

Lovely campsite nestled amongst gumtrees along the banks of the Wimmera. Campsites spread apart with fireplaces and tables at most. The river is very tranquil and perfect for a spot of fishing or a swim to cool off. Good range of hikes near the campsite too. Make sure you book and pay, parks Vic do a lot to keep these places pristine and accessible so important to support and ensure they can continue to maintain such spots. Also recommend driving a bit further in and finding a camp by the banks... We were close to the entrance and didn't realise so many people would be driving in late at night with headlights shining into our tent, camping right next to us. Sites are unnumbered but there's plenty of space to spread out and have a little privacy!

Great spot for the long weekend. Close to town if you need anything, and away from everyone at the same time. With toilets!

Great spot, but beware the marauding kookaburras. Once they get a sniff of barbecue, nothing stops them. They've been known to swoop in and snatch sausages out of grown men's hands.

Only a few minutes out of Dimboola this campground has toilets and picnic areas. Plenty of shady box trees to camp under and steps leading down to the river make accessing the water much easier. We did not stay, but it looks like it would be a good spot in good weather.

Safe swimming river - the flow is undetectable so ideal for your SUP, kayak & inflatable floatie toys. Paddle for miles if you want. Small, sandy beach, plus other river access points nearby. There's even a tree on the opposite bank with a swinging rope over the river if you're game.Clean, flushing toilets - Parks Victoria tend to them every day. Rain water tank for cooking & washing. Lots of shady spots beneath the trees. Many permanent fire pits & picnic tables.Lace monitors & kookaburras frequent the campground, and maybe some kangaroos & emus, too. Lots of croaking frogs in the temporary pond at the moment after the recent big rains, but also hoards of mosquitoes, so bring your insect repellent.

A great campground, ranger came around and cleaned the toilets, beautiful little swimming beach and we had the place to ourselves. 2022 was a wet year so some mozzies and conversely as it’s a desert the campground is dusty and sandy, bring a mat for outside the tent.

Enjoyed our evening, great to have fire pits. Nice and spacious.Lots of wildlife, wallabies and birds. Think we heard fighting possums in the middle of the night! No drinking water.Great little info sheet picked up at the info hut.

Absolute gem. Wildlife galore. The river is to die for on a hot day. Plenty of sites, plenty of shade. Great trails to walk. And the local pub is a find.
