Tantanoola
Tantanoola train station has been closed for many years, and the railway is no longer in use. Town hotel is also closed, but hoping to reopen soon. Football club is only venue in town and open several days a week.

Another railway station with plenty of history. Has been abandoned for many years and the line decomposed. Would have been very useful in the past.

This Tantanoola Railway Station was built in 1880 together with the corrugated iron barrel-vaulted goods shed. This station was built as part of the rail link from Mount Gambier to Beachport, which was opened on 19 May 1879 and therefore represents the earliest period in this region's railway history. The line was built to permit agricultural produce to be exported through Beachport. The station became unattended on 1 May 1980.Tantanoola is a small town in South Australia, the name is derived from the aboriginal word tentunola, which means boxwood / brushwood hill or camp. For travel tips and travel reviews follow me on Instagram: ticketsforthree
