Mountford Williamson Architecture

I first contacted Mountford Williamson after seeing a house they had designed featured in a copy of Fleurieu Living. I resided in Melbourne at the time, but wanted to use a local architect to design a house for the small piece of land I had purchased in Aldinga some years before. I had visualised a relatively simple courtyard-style house, with modernist leanings, using local materials/skills built within a defined budget. I worked with Ben Mountford throughout the project and cannot speak highly enough of his work and professionalism. There is a tendency for some architects to get a little caught up in their own design concepts, but Ben was incredibly respectful of my vision and I always had the sense that I was being heard. By the same token, when my aspirations extended beyond my allocated budget, he would always tactfully advise and recommend other options. He was meticulous in his approach, incredibly responsive at all times, proactively contributed suggestions for improvement, and provided additional information and visuals to enable me to make informed decisions. He also worked very closely and collegially with the builder I had chosen. I felt engaged and consulted at all times – critical given that I was building the house from a distance. Ben is a person of great integrity and if you are contemplating using an architect to design your residential (or other) project, I would very highly recommend his services.
