Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Feeding
Horrible. Overbooked, poorly organised and excessive costs for photos. Ended up having wet clothes for the 1.5 hour boat ride back because the 7pm boat left at 7:30pm when it finished. Told not allowed to take photos so dolphins aren’t disrupted then they take them and overcharge (terrible photos too).Everything else was great except for the dolphin feeding.

Did an Explorer bus trip from the Carnival Splendor today .The resort is just stunning with a huge variety of activity options & is now on my bucket list..HOWEVER our bus driver Mark gave absolutely NO narration, information or descriptions on the shipwrecks, history or lay of the land as apparently the microphone wasn't working? Why the hell NOT❓❓At $170 for a day tour, we learnt nothing, zero nothing which was very disappointing to all the first time visitors Australian & International visitors. The only reason we learnt anything on the return trip was because a passenger was sitting up in the front seat asking questions..Brett, the other driver was thoroughly informative & friends on his bus advised us of his expert narration.A total waste of money. The lunch sandwiches were delicious!

Spend at least 30 minutes for an afternoon tea and a presentation they empathize about how human are the biggest threat to dolphins (then why they even having this dolphins feeding activity in the first place? consider there are just so many people signed up for this activity.). As well as their programs and introducing different dolphins etc. Then lead us onto the beach, lined us up. waited for another 15 minutes…until it’s our turn. Got a dead baby fish and had to walk deeper into the ocean, and the water is about waist high. We were told to leave immediately after feeding the fish to the dolphin. So basically just saw the dolphin for a few seconds and spent 150 for this experience! Whilst they took photos with flash light cameras on, when we asked if we could take photos with our phone they said no that would freak out the dolphins….

We have booked for the wild dophin feeding but was told to cancel due to some flood reasons. At the island the staff told us that only guest at the resort can book for the feeding. As we are not the guest but on a one day trip, we are disappointed that we are given the wrong reason. Nevertheless we watch from the stand on the feeding. At the same time there was filming.

We were so disappointed with the dolphins feeding activity this Sunday.A small family like three of us had to be separated in two groups to feed the dolphins. There was a ridiculous rule only two people can feed the dolphins once. We expressed our interest to feed together and have a family photo with dolphins once, the young lady refused us but kindly enough to offer my little girl to feed twice so she could have a chance to have a picture with both Daddy and Mummy but separately. We thought it might be because they do not want too many people to feed the dolphins as dolphins might get scared, so we just do what she told us.At the time of the feeding, we discovered we were sharing feeding with another family that was also separated into groups of two. What is the point to break up a family why not alternating the feeding so every family can just feed once?! Unbelievable. When my daughter was waiting for her Daddy’s turn after feeding with me, a senior aged lady came suddenly and interrupted my daughter and husband and said every one only have one fish and one feed. She grabbed the fish from my daughter’s hand and put it back in the bucket and speak loudly in the speaker to tell everyone only feeds once. My daughter was instructed to leave and my husband ended up to feed alone without my daughter. We were utterly disappointed and speechless with this lady’s manner.Hope every does one not have the similar feeding experience like we had.For us the whole point stay on this island for couple of days is to let our daughter have a wonderfull experience with her favourite dolphins that was totally disappointed.

If you want a really honest review, read this one. This review is from a P&O customer who came to the island via a cruise. We spent approx 1.5 - 2 hours on this tour. They gave food at the beginning which was average and we didn’t even get a chance to eat much as we arrived ON TIME and others arrived earlier and ate everything. A little disorganised there. Then we sat down for a presentation. Highly educational but not in a boring way. It was a very good presentation. Then we went to the beach and waited for some while to feed the dolphins. All this time you get super enthusiastic and excited to feed the dolphins but unfortunately when you get called, you put your hand in the water, the dolphin eats the fish, and they tell you to get out of the water. Overall you spend about 2 minutes with the dolphins and mind you, you’re not allowed to touch them. The 2 minutes was still great and staff were extremely nice, however don’t get mislead by the way they advertise this tour. This is exactly what happens and it is very unique but at the same time extremely disappointing especially since it is the most expensive tour on the island.

It's not okay to feed wild animals! Do not support this. They unlearn how to find their own food, get dangerously close to humans/beaches and die. Don't support these companies who have no clue about wild animals.

One of a kind experience of feeding wild dolphins in the shallow water from the beach. Feedings took place around 7pm and booking is essential. Well organized with knowledgeable staff giving clear instructions to participants and spectators. Even if you do not participate in the feeding, the jetty provides a good viewing point of the dolphins with seating for everyone. I found the actual feeding to be a bit rushed due to the large number of people in line.
